I remember turning on the TV and seeing Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" video for the first time. I was mesmerized as a 16-year old to see the power within the video of a group of people coming together for a united front. Even at such an early age I recognized what that video meant to me as a black teen. It meant that there was still work to do to being about equality in the United States among the races.
That's just one of many songs that has had some sort of impact on my life. Some songs remind me of a great time that I had. Some remind me of someone I once loved. Some educate me like "Fight the Power" and many other Public Enemy songs did.
Tonight we'll discuss the following:
What songs impacted your life?
Why is R&B/Rap is on life support?
What was your favorite concert?
These things and a recap on the previous weekend in sports on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!
"No experts. Just opinions."

Paul Richmond is an artist, activist, and storyteller. His work often incorporates elements of pop culture, politics, and his own experiences as a gay man. You can see all of his work, purchase some prints and more at http://paulrichmondstudio.com. His latest series, War Paint, explores ideas of identity and masculinity through expressive, figurative paintings of men covering their bodies with paint. He enjoys working with models who have made important or interesting contributions to LGBT culture, and he's painted everyone from Jack Mackenroth to Perez Hilton. Many of the "gaylebrity" models were a part of his Cheesecake Boys series, a gay/male spin on classic pin-up art from the 40's and 50's.
When he's not painting, he is busy with a non-profit organization that he founded with his childhood art teacher called the You Will Rise Project. Their mission to empower young people who have experienced bullying to speak out through the creation of uncensored artworks. He was bullied horribly as a kid and having a creative outlet made all the difference. He does free workshops for young people, a mentorship program connecting college artists with bullied high school students, a special project last spring called Art For Michael in support of an 11 year old boy who attempted suicide after being bullied for his love of My Little Pony, and a new social media photo campaign called #SelfieRespect. My name is LeAndra. I am a Psychic, a Lightworker, a Medium, a Reiki Master Teacher and an Ayurvedic Practitioner. As a psychic I help others by offering insight into the energy of their life. Energy is very slippery. As a psychic I am tuned into the energy of the world around me, while at the same time staying grounded. This enables me to receive insights that I do my best to interpret so this info, knowledge or wisdom can be passed on to you. In my own life, I go by feel. From my experience sometimes trying too hard to understand leads to not paying attention. My mediumship has been around as long as my psychic abilities. My childhood wasn’t haunted by lots of people who had died. What I experienced was their light essence, amongst other things. Later into my teen years things began to change.I am able to channel and see light frequencies. This is a basic description of lightwork. These are gifts passed down to me from my ma’s side of the family. Lightwork is a very ancient healing modality. I use it mainly for people in extreme stress and life energy blockages. I really cherish this so much. Reiki. I just love it. When reiki came into my life, it was at the end of a really big transition and it really helped me bring my Lightwork forth. It’s a lovely modality. I really encourage the Reiki practitioners out in the world to keep on using their skills. I was initially attuned in the western tradition and several years ago into the eastern tradition as well. Reiki is just another form of pranic healing. Prana is vital energy.I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner. Ayurveda is a medical science from India http://www.ancientwisdomhealingservices.com/
