This is a very special episode of The Social Spitball Show.
In this episode, Bram Sarkowski will talk with his very good friend Matt, who has been living as a homeless man for almost a year, after being foreclosed on and selling most of his possessions. Matt graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Accounting. As Bram's co-worker for close to two years, he earned Bram's respect for being so committed to professionalism and courtesy for the customers at a camera shop. Matt is also a genius musically and is an accomplished drummer and songwriter.
The show will mainly be a conversation between Bram and Matt, concerning Matt's story and how he came to be homeless. After a good amount of time fleshing out this very personal tale, Bram will give Matt and the listeners a break by playing a TED Talk featuring Becky Blanton, who quit her job as a writer and became homeless for a year. Her tale mirrors Matt's in many ways.
At the end of the show, Bram will bring on co-host Barbara Dee and Social Spitball Show longtime friend Marshall Adame, Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in NC's 3rd District, who spent a good portion of his life as a homeless man. One of the great three promoters for the show, Crystal Stephens (AKA The Liberal Kitty) will also share her experience of homelessness.
Once all are on the line for the open discussion, we will attempt to get to the root of what causes our nation (at least one of the richest in the world) to have so many homeless people...many of them Veterans of our military.
We can do better...won't you help us find out how?
Let's get the conversation going...

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is the most prolific serial killer in American History, but almost no one knows who he is. Mainstream media or Hollywood don't think it is a story, even though Gosnell killed more people than Gary Ridgeway, John Wayne Gacey, The Zodiac Killer, and Ted Bundy combined! In a 30 year killing spree, it is thought he killed 1000's of babies. And that wasn't a national story? But Jodi Arias, who was on trial at the same time as Gosnell, for killing her boyfriend, just one person, was national news EVERY DAY. Ann McElhinney joins Joe today to discuss the Gosnell Movie project and how we can all help.
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Quote from the movie Moneyball, Scout: "We're all told at some point in time that we can no longer play the children's game, we just don't...we don't know when that's gonna be. Some of us are told at eighteen, some of us are told at forty, but we're all told."
If you look to continue your dream the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are holding tryouts and take very seriously the use of these one day camps. Assistant GM & Director of Player Personnel Ted Goveia finds these as a rich source of scouting and adding players to his roster. With the NFL Draft a few weeks away not all players will make it, leaving the door open to play professional football in Canada in the CFL.
Goveia joins the College2Pro.com Players Platform Show, to discuss the opportunities the are few and far between at this juncture for many players leaving college or still looking to play the game of football.
April 27th, the Blue Bombers are holding tryouts in Girard, OH, located about an hour from Cleveland and Pittsburgh, PA.
