Kristen Merlin – Hanson, MA
Kristen was elmlinated from last week's finals of The Voice. But life goes on and Kristen will be here to chat about what are her upcoming plans. Before The Voice fame she has always faced ridicule for her tomboy appearance. She loves music and wants to use her passion and the national platform of The Voice to represent others who may be judged by how they look and not who they are. It's that time of year again! The Voice contestants for Season 6 will be featured this week. Our first guest for this segment will be singer Patrick Thomson from Team Adam.

This small-town Zach Galafanakis look-alike grew up around music. Patrick’s mom was in a folk band, and he taught himself to play guitar and saxophone. Although he’s currently working as the assistant manager at a retail mobile phone store, Patrick is ready to launch his career as a solo artist. Follow Patrick on Twitter at @pktmusic.

Not many people are criticizing Kevin Durant for quitting Team USA nearly two weeks after the team began training camp, but I am an exception. I thought it was a poor choice by a guy who let down his national team coach and teammates -- even if the majority of folks want to give him a pass.
But as we look closer at Durant's decision, it raises some questions. Is he getting bad advice from Jay Z and Roc Nation, who represent him?
Is sneaker money more important than keeping your word to your coach and teammates?
And is Roc Nation making the right kinds of endorsement deals for Durant, who is negotiationg with UnderArmour and adidas as he ponders leaving Nike.
My answers in this interview with Marc Daniels, host of "The Beat of Sports" on 740-The Game in Orlando.

Gavin Mannion - the newest member of Team Garmin Sharp - joins us this evening for a look at Stage 2 of the US Pro Cycling Challenge. Alex Howes of Garmin Sharp took possession of the Leader's Jersey today racing through some truly awful weather conditions. Stage 2 opened fast by ripping down the Aspen Valley through the sprint cities of Basalt and Carbondale before tackling the 8,700 ft. McClure Pass. A short descent brings the race to Gunnison County road 12, which is a 20-mile rollercoaster that constantly changes from pavement to dirt and back again, while topping out at 9,900 ft. over Kebler Pass. A technical descent into Crested Butte brings the race back to familiar terrain. As in 2011 and 2012, the race will finish up with a sprint through downtown Crested Butte and the steep finish climb up to Mt. Crested Butte.
