Sarah Wiles, a teacher from Charlotte-Mecklenberg Public Schools, wrote these words...
"I am embarrassed to confess that I am a teacher! This was the title of an email sent by a high school science teacher in Mecklenberg County to the North Carolina General Assembly. One state senator had a pretty harsh response to her letter. Join us on the Butterfly Evolution show, Tuesday May 20th as we talk to Sarah Wiles, about why so many teachers like her are fustrated and just plain fed up with lies, legislators, and low pay.

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!
In Vergara vs. California Judge Rolf M. Treu ruled, in effect, that it was too easy for teachers to gain strong job protections and too difficult to dismiss those who performed poorly in the classroom."This decision today is an attack on teachers, which is a socially acceptable way to attack children, Instead of providing for smaller classes or more counselors, “you attack teacher and student rights.”Alex Caputo-Pearl, president-elect Los Angeles teachers union.Silicon Valley entrepreneur David Welch made his money creating breakthrough technology in fiber optic communication and building hardware to run the massive interenet networks of the future. He's spending it - at least some of it - on a pet project that could substantially change teaching in California and the rest of the country.Welch is the man behind Students Matter, the advocacy group that recruited nine public school students to sue the state of California, saying teacher job protections harm their ability to get the 'adequate' education they are promised in the state constitution.
As the word predicted, we are awash in a sea of false teachers, most of whom are known by name.
However, we are not to label doctrine as true or false according to from whom it comes, but by what is actually said.
As today's false teachers were unknown to the writers of scripture, it makes sense to identify what characterizes false teaching, more than it maes sense to call out the false teachers. They come and go, but their doctrine hangs around for a long time
Nowadays teachers are younger, especially tHigh School and Middle School teachers. Some say it's great for teachers to be younger, they can relate to the students better. Others say young teachers and pre-teen/teenage students is a "train wreeck waiting to happen" .
Can Middle and High School students learn better from younger teachers? If one of the goals is to increase the numbers of qualified teachers, does it matter if they are old or young?
