Managing people can be a difficult task. Doing it gracefully can seem nearly impossible some days. Surprising though, even worse than the difficulty of managing people is the trap of doing it all ourselves.
We need to remember the importance of letting go. As an entrepreneur it is so easy to always see every task as being something we have to do. The truth though is much different. All distractions are equal and in your business the distraction of busyness can be the worst. We need to learn how to identify not only our strengths but also our weaknesses. Then as we have said many times, we need to STOP DOING WHAT YOU SUCK AT! Let your brilliance shine and allow others a place where their brilliance can shine as well.
We need to discover how to assign people where they will shine and then lead them with grace. It is our job as the owner of our company and the CEO of our business to create an environment of empowerment. By allowing our people to shine and creating a graceful place for accomplishment we receive a business that is not only successful, but is more importantly THRIVING!
Join host Steve Kidd and his special guest Michael James. Michael spent years as a general contractor, so he knows how to manage people and projects. Michael also went on an incredible journey of self-discovery that has changed his life. Michael shares with what he learned about himself and how that can help you and your business to:
Be open to asking for help
Giving Grace as we Manage people
Assigning tasks to the right people and empowering their success

At about 11:30am, Wobble Cafe owner Beylka Krupp, a winner finalist with the General Mills Recipe Contest, will have listeners salivating at the dishes she serves at her eatery that caught General Mills attention. The recent memo from the Attorney General’s office baring local and state police from using federal asset forfeiture law to seize cash, cars and other property without warrants or criminal charges represents the most sweeping check on police power to confiscate personal property since the seizures began three decades ago as part of the war on drugs. Our first guest is Omar Figueroa, a Sebastopol lawyer who has been involved in many precedent setting marijuana cases as well as in the politics of marijuana prohibition. Attorney Figueroa will explore the ramifications of this new memo and take a look at how this will affect medical marijuana patients especially in light of the feds new hands off policy in medical marijuana states.
A lawsuit filed by the anti-drug group Safe Streets and three other plaintiffs including the owners of Holiday Inn target a number of Colorado lawmakers, including Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), Revenue Department Executive Director Barbara Brohl and Marijuana Enforcement Division Director W. Lewis Koski. Going a step beyond simply suing the state, the plaintiffs are also going after participants in Colorado's commercial marijuana industry. Citing federal racketeering laws, the plaintiffs are seeking damages due to alleged injury brought on by legalization.
The Marijuana Policy Project is not taking this legal action lightly and has called for a boycott of Holiday Inn Hotels. MPP Communications Director Morgan Fox is the show’s second guest who will take a look at the lawsuit and explain how the boycott will be carried out.
