Christ Stood for the Poor and Against the Church

    in Religion

Luke 14:12-14 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

There is no church unless the right people feel welcomed and accepted.  The church will become a church when all feel equally loved as Christ loves us.

Matthew 23 1-12 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.  “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.  Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

The church is not honest until it exposes its own hypocrisy.  The Christian leaders have again led its followers away from Christ.

Perel Noire presents Burlesque featuring Gin Minsky

    in Entertainment

Gin Minsky is one half of New York's famed 1920s tapping sensations, the Minsky Sisters. Gin started hitting the stage with taps on her feet at the tender age of five and hasn't looked back since.

Gin got her start as a classically trained dancer studying jazz, ballet, pointe, tap and modern - but tap seemed to stick as she and her sister, Kristen, hit the back streets of New York working every cabaret and vaudeville show in town.

With a short skirt and shorter hair, this flapper has been appearing all over New York, dolled up and charming crowds in venues like P.S. 122, The Players Club, Webster Hall, and Galapagos Art Space, to name a few. Gin has been featured in the line-up of popular NYC events including Dances of Vice, NYC Food & Wine Festival, Foreign Affairs, The Salon, and the Jazz Age Lawn Party. This hoofer also taps coast-to-coast, doing the Charleston in Los Angeles, twirling tassels in Providence, and flappin' everywhere in between.

With some hot jazz in the air and hooch in hand, this dame'll give you an edge... and how!

Message To Graduates: Where Do You Stand with God?

    in Religion

This time of year is filled with high school and college graduations and celebrations. Tassels will be turned over, caps will be thrown in the air and hopes will be kindled as to what the future may hold. However, the biggest question about the future does not concern educational degrees or job prospects. The most challenging though all men must face is, “What is my relationship with God.” Listen in to today’s program as our host, Kevin Thompson, challenges students to realize their stance in God’s eyes is what will really decide one’s ultimate future. This was recorded during a recent Rock County Christian School (Beloit, WI) chapel.
