Tamika's passion for writing began at an early age. In college she majored in English with an emphasis on creative writing. Tamika wrote short stories both for class assignments and for pleasure. Her dream of becoming a published author began as a junior in college. Although Tamika knew that someday her dream would come true, she needed a career in the meantime. She attended law school while raising two daughters and working full time. She had very little downtime but whenever she had a moment to herself she wrote. During this time her first novel, Anytime Soon was created.
By the time her oldest daughter went off to college Tamika had finally finished her novel and began working to get it published. In 2010, tragedy struck when Tamika's mother died unexpectedly and the writing project was put on hold. Two years later, a close friend reminded Tamika of her dream and encouraged her to continue with her writing project. Knowing that her mother would want her to move forward, Tamika again began the journey to becoming a published author. BQB Books has been the first step in completing her journey.
Today, Tamika is excited about her novel and busy working on her next novel.

Please join the hosts as they welcome in their special guest, Tamika Christy. Tamika is a Bay Area native and began writing at an early age, prompted by the gift of a journal for Christmas. With pen in hand, she continued writing throughout college where she realized her talent for creating intriguing plots and multidimensional characters. Tamika continued to nurture her love for writing while attending law school, where she gave birth to her first novel, Anytime Soon.
Tamika’s life experiences have been filled with rich experiences and a loving cast of delightful family and friends. Her stories embody characters and plots that are based on the premise that we are all flawed in some way but our individual imperfections make us uniquely who we are. Beyond writing, Tamika enjoys cooking, running, and, most of all, spending time with her two beautiful daughters. She continues to reside in the Bay Area and, although she is enjoying the release of her first novel, she is currently busy working on her second.

A native of South Florida, Mika Barnes picked up the pen at a very young age when she penned her first rhyme at the tender age of eight. Through the years, Mika gained notoriety as one of the "illest rhyme spitters" in South Florida. Because of her love for music, poetry, and short stories, novel writing was a natural progression for her.

To fulfill the desires of her wonderful readers, Mika has penned the sexy short entitled "3" and two additional books expanding the character's story from Chocolate High to a full series in Caramel Addiction (2012) and Risse's Rehab (2014). Mika is currently hard at work on her next full length novel, an anthology project, and several short stories.
Mika's books are available as ebooks and trade paperbacks at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and at your favorite bookstore.
