Having inhaled The Best Laid Plans in one night, I'm so looking forward to chatting with its amazing author, Tamara Mataya!
Tamara Mataya is currently a librarian; she lurked there for so long recommending books to patrons and shushing people, that she suspects they only hired her so it would be less creepy. Now she’s armed with a name tag, and a thin veneer of credibility. She’s also a musician with synaesthesia – which isn't an issue until someone plays a wrong note, which makes her want to squirm inside out. It makes for a good live show.
Four friends Dan, Samantha, Maggie and Luke, venture on their road trip. Every year Samantha and Maggie (sisters), home to spend the Fourth of July with their parents, but this year Dan mapped out the PERFECT road trip. Along the way their car is stolen. With no car, no cellular service, and no one in sight, they are forced to seek the help small town locals of Harold and Nancy Johnson.
The town’s real moves become obvious as the couples find themselves fishing to stay alive. When there’s nowhere to hide, all they can do is run like hell.

A little about Tamara - "I'm 37 years old. I was a victim of Domestic Violence when I was 16 years old. At the time my then boyfriend was in his early 20s, so i hid it from my mom because I wasnt supposed to be dating anyone that old. Because of being a victim of DV it really lowered my self-esteem. Before that relationship, I was this outgoing young lady. Afterwards I became very quiet and unsure of myself. During my 20s I made bad choices in men. I was so insecure, I felt that I didn't deserve to even be married. Although I'm still not married, I've learned within recent years my worth and I'm so proud fo myself for what i"m doing. Its like that precocious person, resilient person that I was before that relationship is back. I Have a Talk Show now, Real talk with Tamara and its main focus is to bring subjects like abuse to the forefront and My plan is to make sure this so goes national."
