Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Jesus Christ

    in Religion

Sylvester Stallone was a difficult birth, yanked from his mother's womb by a doctor's forceps that severed a facial nerve. As a result, the lower left side of his face is paralyzed, including parts of his lip, tongue, and chin, an accident which has given Stallone his trademark snarling look and slightly slurred speech.
The Sheriff's Department referred the domestic violence investigation involving Mel over to the D.A. months ago. The extortion investigation involving Oksana is outstanding.

TMZ first reported that the D.A. has been actively monitoring the Sheriff's Department investigation into the extortion claim and will make a joint decision on the two cases at the same time

Long Road to Ruin: The Hobbit Trilogy

    in Movies

Andrew Graham rejoins Sean Comer and Mark Radulich as they review Peter Jackson's second trip to Middle Earth, The Hobbit.  Since BTR cut off our show 2 weeks ago, we'll spend a few minutes concluding our discussion of Return of the King.  After that we'll dive right into all the pre-production issues that plagued the Hobbit Trilogy.  We'll talk about the special editions and debate whether Jackson should have tried to keep it to 2 movies

The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King, which expand on the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the films. The films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).

Sylvester Stallone: "Life is About Following Christ, Not Battling it Out Alone" (Gospel Light Minute

    in Movies

He is an American actor, filmmaker, screenwriter and film director. He is best known for his machismo and Hollywood action roles. The most notable characters he has portrayed are boxer Rocky Balboa and soldier John Rambo. The franchises that stemmed from these characters solidified him as a mainstay in Hollywood. His film "Rocky" was inducted into the National Film Registry and its film props were placed in the Smithsonian Museum. He was voted into boxing's Hall of Fame on December 7, 2010.

As a child, he used to attend church regularly, but as he got older and his acting career progressed, he stopped going to church. After several years of Hollywood fame and fortune, he says "I got back to my Christian roots. After my daughter was born ill in 1996, I turned myself over to the process of believing in Jesus. That conversion experience released me from the pressures of the world."

He went on to say, "In the past, my ego and worldly temptations took over in my life and I went spiraling out of control. Rather than living like Rocky with some sense of ideal, I didn’t. I thought I was entitled to things but you’re not entitled to anything. You are what you leave behind. The more I go to church and the more I turn myself over to the process of believing in Jesus and listening to His Word and having Him guide my hand, I feel as though the pressure is off me now.” He said that the latest and final chapter in the ‘Rocky’ series, "reflects my conviction that life is about following Christ, not battling it out alone...You need to have the expertise and the guidance of someone else. You cannot train yourself. I feel the same way about Christianity and about what the church is: The church is the gym of the soul." His name is Sylvester Stallone.

Democratic run, Flynt, Michigan, are knowing poisoning their black voters.

For the second year in a row, the Academy has only nominated white actors and Jada Pinkett Smith is irked.

The 44-year-old actress aired her feelings on Facebook, even mulling a boycott of the award show.

"At the Oscars, people of color are always welcomed to give out awards, even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments," Pinkett Smith wrote on Facebook and Twitter. "Should people of color refrain from participating all together?"

"People can only treat us in the way in which we allow," the "Magic Mike XXL" star added. "With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment, J."

“She thinks that if people do not speak out things will never change,” reports Rob Shuter of naughtygossip.com. “Most of the folks that vote are old white men. This has to change. She doesn’t care if speaking out hurts her career, she cannot sit silent anymore."

When the nominations were announced snubbing Will Smith (“Concussion”), Idris Elba “Beasts of No Nation”), and Samuel L. Jackson (“The Hateful Eight”), there was an immediate backlash on Twitter.

Objectors used the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite to highlight the fact that the only nomination for the critically acclaimed “Straight Outta Compton” when to the two white screenwriters, while “Creed,” a movie starring a black man and directed by a black man, only recognized Sylvester Stallone’s performance.
