It's Your World Big Girl...Summertime TIPS!

    in Lifestyle

    Personal Care TIP:
It's Beginning to get warm outside and temperatures are expected to soar for the summertime...
So here are a few of my tips to help keep you fresh and clean.
I'm aware that this subject can be taboo, but for some, it's NEEDED.

5 Easy Steps to keep you SPRING FRESH and CLEAN ALL DAY!

    1. SHOWER MORE FREQUENTLY: During the Summer months the body perspires more which could give off a foul odor if you tend to sweat profusely! Try to fit in an additional shower between meetings to avoid embarrassment. If you work a long day and cannot get to a shower…

    2. BE SURE TO CARRY A WASH CLOTH AND SOAP and Baby wipes, or Feminine wipes in your purse and use some of your break time to wash yourself in the ladies room and…

    3. CHANGE YOUR UNDER GARMENTS and panty liners! Even if you’re NOT on your period, panty liners will keep your feminine area clean and your panties fresh.

    4. AVOID HEAVY PERFUMES: Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT wear the same fragrances for Summer that you wore all Fall and Winter! Choose a lighter scent. Heavy perfumes on a sweaty body will only intensify an ALREADY bad smell…and NEVER EVER EVER SPRAY PERFUME ON A DIRTY BODY!

    5. WATCH YOUR DIET!!! Remember, what goes in SHOWS OUT!!!! If you choose to eat greasy fried foods, and starchy salty foods, you will actually begin to LOOK GREASY!!! You will feel weighted down and HOT, your cholesterol levels will intensify with souring temperatures, and you’ll just feel and look YUCKY!!! Choose organic fruits, veggies, oats, and grains! Stay hydrated with water!

***Keep your face clean and revamp your makeup routine as well. Instead of a full coverage foundation go for a light BB Cream, skip the heavy contouring, and choose a light pigmented go to lip-gloss!
    Enjoying a FEMININE FRESH SUMMER...

African-American Leaders A-Z- By Dr. Andrea Berry

    in Spirituality

Dr. Berry currently serves as an instructional Supervisor of Equity, Diversity, Special Programs, and English Language Learners on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Dr. Berry-Opher is an educator with 19 years of experience in a variety of capacities such as teacher, assistant principal, principal, district level supervisor, adjunct college professor, presenter, etc.

Dr. Berry is a proven collaborative administrator who demonstrates expertise in empowering teaching staffs, successful implementation of professional learning communities through book studies and action research, influencing cultural diversity awareness, and providing high quality teacher professional development.

In the journey of life, Dr. Berry strives to make educating youth a smooth process. She advocates, mentors, collaborates, celebrates and works tirelessly to help what one of her mentors calls, “Our Most Valuable Resource, CHILDREN.”

A vital stitch in the education of a child is their knowledge base about heritage. Although we pay tribute to African American History in the month of February, it is imperative for students to see the impact role models of color have on their daily life and existence year round. Providing exposure to the unsung African American leaders in our country is the ultimate educational gift to children and my humble attempt to recognize greatness in the African American community.

THE WICKED IS THE SCEPTER OF THE RULERS!

    in Religion

Isa 14:4  You will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say, "How the oppressor has ceased, And how fury has ceased!  5  "YAH has broken the staff of the Wicked, which is The scepter of rulers.

Isa 11:1  And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2  And the spirit of YAH shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAH;  3  And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear of YAH: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears:
4  But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the Wicked.

Consider the rate at which the rulers have rapidly moved toward the utter obliteration of the earth and its resources.   Since the dawn of human fall, the rulers of the nations have never been able to accomplish true peace on earth. What then do you percieve would be the fate of this earth if by the promise of YAH current ruling regimes were to remain in power?   If one believes all he needs know unto salvation is taught by present world rulership; shall one say it is in YAH is his trust?   Blind to the truth which today's rulers would never tell,  for many generations the peoples have not known what the early church knew is the only hope for true knowledge of YAH unto salvation.  Indeed.  For trusting the rulers, most never hoped for, considered nor ever knew true to what is divinely foreordained, the righteous expectation for true salvation.

Facts and Myths: The School to Prison Pipeline

    in Education

In February 2013, NCEBC launched NCEBCTalkRadio with a weekly radio show as a resource for urban educators, parents, and members of the "Community Faculty". The worldly insights of Host, Dr. Eric Cooper meshed with the culturally-astute and melodious tone of co-host, Dr. Nicole McZeal Waters in what became somewhat of an instant hit! Early shows welcomed the likes of Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond (Stanford University), Dr. Yvette Jackson (National Urban Alliance), Dr. Raymond Winbush (Morgan State University), and a 6 weeks series with experts from the Annenberg Institute.  Today NCEBCTalkRadio offers two regular radio programs and is considered a primary component of the NCEBC "tool-kit" geared toward urban educators.

On Monday, May 11, 2015, we return to the airwaves with a conversation on "Derailing the School to Prison Pipeline (STPP) for Black Males" providing effective interventions that address both academics and behavior issues. The Equity Project in Indiana represented by Director, Dr. Russell Skiba, Dr. Gwen Kelley and Ms. Chrystal Gray will join our hosts along with Principal and Author, Mr. Roy Dobbs to engage listeners in an open dialogue on myths and facts on how and why black boys end up in School-to-Prison-Pipeline.They will share characteristics of effective black male programs while welcoming callers with questions and comments.

NCEBC will host this conversation with an "Open Mic" approach. We want to hear the voices of our emerging new leadership.....Voices of The Next Millennium. Education, Social Justice, Mass Incarcerations, Health Care, Voting Rights and Labor are topics to be explored. We invite our entire listening audience to participate in the conversation on Twitter, Facebook, text, phone call and email.
