    SWAMI CHETANANANDA

    in Self Help

Please enjoy watching the video versions of this and other interviews with our remarkable guests at QigongMasters.com/show.

Swami Chetanananda is a teacher in the lineage of Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri. Born and raised in the Midwest, Swami’s life was transformed, when he met his guru, Swami Rudrananda (Rudi), in New York City in 1971. Since that day, he has devoted himself to realizing his highest potential and to empowering others to realize theirs.

In 1997, during a trip to Kathmandu, Nepal, Swami Chetanananda met Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche and discovered for himself that the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and Himalayan Shaivism shared a common origin. Since then, he has been studying with Lama Wangdu and other Tantric masters.

Swami Chetanananda conveys his teachings in direct and accessible terms, making them relevant to everyday circumstances. He offers simple, practical techniques for working with creative energy and explains them in ways that can be practiced by anyone. The fundamental method he teaches uses the power of the breath to circulate the inner energy and intensify its flow so that tensions and obstacles are dissolved, leading to a more refined awareness.

To complement his spiritual practices, Swami Chetanananda has a working knowledge of a range of healing systems and methodologies, from the time-honored traditions of hatha yoga and acupuncture to the more modern techniques of homeopathy and osteopathy. He is the author of several books on spirituality including Dynamic Stillness; The Breath of God; Open Heart, Open Mind; Choose to Be Happy; There Is No Other, and Will I Be the Hero of My Own Life?

Swami continues with Verse 86 from THE CHIDAKASHA GITA OF BHAGAWAN NITYANANDA OF GANESHPURI.  Here is the first verse to be discussed...

    86. The repetition of Rama is true delight. It is the eternal Atma delight, eternal true delight, internal Atma delight, Kundalini grandeur delight. The lord of mind is Rama. Rama means Atman. That which governs the ten Indriyas (five Karmendriyas and five Jnyanendriyas) is Rama. Ravana means all the wicked qualities in us. Sita means Chitta. Lakshmana means attention (thought control). Krishna means introspection. This introspection is the eternal Atma delight.

Swami continues with Verse 101 from THE CHIDAKASHA GITA OF BHAGAWAN NITYANANDA OF GANESHPURI.  Here is the first verse to be discussed...

    101. When a boy has passed the first standard and he goes to the second standard, books of the first standard are no longer required by him. When a man is in sound sleep, he sees neither the stars nor the sun nor the moon. He is aware of nothing. Then the mind is nill. Sleep is a subtle condition. It is not gross. In sound sleep we are not conscious of the body. Then we are conscious of Atma alone. We will have sleep when Prana is in a fixed plane in the body. When the ego is completely destroyed, everything seems to be like “reflection.” The mind’s delusion is not permanent. It is not Shiva.

Swami continues with Verse 54 from THE CHIDAKASHA GITA OF BHAGAWAN NITYANANDA OF GANESHPURI.  Here is the first verse to be discussed...

    54. He is a Jnani (Knower) who has given up worldly pleasures and, by practicing yoga, seen God. Ananda (bliss) is not in what you hear. Bliss is a matter of (direct & conscious) experience. Such a man is called a Mahatma. Those who have seen earthen and stone images do not become Mahatmas. He is a Mahatma who knows himself.
