Feedback from Obama's Immigration Reform Bill, Fallout from Common Core, Tom Torlakson victory over Marshall Tuck (Why was it so close?)
The Common Core Standards Initiative has inspired A Unified Learning Supports to ensure Common Core is learned well so that kids will be College and Career Ready. In this Unified Learning Supports is a Comprehensive Counseling Guidance proposed by Alabama Sup Tommy Bice (maybe tweaked in Dec worksession and voted in Jan by SBOE).
Here are some food for thought gleanings from nationally renowned Education Expert--Linda Murphy:
"All students will receive a data-driven counseling program that promotes academic achievement, career readiness, and personal/social development", which includes their "attitudes, character, values and beliefs."
It is "aligned with ASCA National Model and its revisions and includes four interrelated components: foundation, delivery system, management system, and accountability."
The "ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs, and three revisions promulgate national school counseling standards."
It "helps students achieve their full potential through four program delivery components: School Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning, Responsive Services, and Indirect Services." read more

Mindy Hall, PhD, is the author of Leading with Intention: Every Moment is a Choice. A great book, one of my favorites, one I'll keep close at hand. She is the President and CEO of Peak Development Consulting, LLC. Since founding the company 1996, she has worked with clients throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia to create sustainable organization and leadership development solutions: helping leaders create solutions for today’s challenges, while also growing their capacity to lead future initiatives from within. Clients include leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, technology, insurance, manufacturing, government, and nonprofit organizations, several of which are among the Fortune 50.
She began her career as the director of a nonprofit, 24-hour crisis center and has always been surprised how transferable the skills were from crisis center to corporate work.
On her website at Peak Development, LLC she promises Honest Advice. Practical Solutions. Real Results. I believe her. Empathy strengthens as we grow in our careers while remembering our humble beginnings. Empathy is a key trait for all successful leaders.
Come listen as we talk about Leading with Intention, making good choices in every moment, and crisis centers and corporate cultures share much in common these days. I'm thinking that if you follow her advice, lead with intention, some of company's daily fire drills can be eliminated while you grow in revenues and profits.

Why good friends are so important
A lot of research has been done looking into the benefits of friendship, and the research has found exactly what you might expect. It turns out that the better quality relationships you have; the more likely you are to be happy. Therefore it’s good for your happiness to be a great friend to someone and to have a group of good friends supporting you. But it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what makes a good friend.
Signs of a good friend
Friends will come and go in your life, but more important than how long a friendship lasts, is that a good friend will love you for who you are. The way you can tell the sign of a good friend is by looking at the actions they take –big and small – that show they care.
Some common signs of a good friend include
someone who will support you no matter what
someone you can trust and who won’t judge you
someone who won’t put you down or deliberately hurt your feelings
someone who is kind and has respect for you
someone who will love you because they choose to, not because they feel like they should
someone whose company you enjoy
being trustworthy and willing to tell you the truth, even when it’s hard
someone who can laugh when you do
someone who is willing to stick around when things get tough
someone who makes you smile
someone who is there to listen
someone who will cry when you cry.
Immigration, Ferguson, Obamacare, Climate Change.
Think of these as the four horsemen of the Obama orchestrated American apocalypse.
Actually, there are other avenues of attack taken by Obama in his quest to fundamentally transform America, but the big four are stand-outs.
Thanks to Jonathan Gruber, more Americans now understand the promises of Obamacare were too good to be true, they were lies from the start.
Don's assessment after more than a week of Gruber videos going public: "We have an illegitimate government that has engaged in a breach of the social contract by committing premeditated fraud."
But Obamacare's not the only plank in Obama's agenda built on lies. HIs immigration and climate change goals are also deceptive to their core. And his ongoing efforts to expand and exploit racial divide provides, in some sense, distraction, while at the same time weakens and distorts our constitutional justice system.
At this writing, TV broadcast networks balk at the idea of carrying Obama's Thursday night immigration address. Maybe MSM now seeks to begin distancing from the Obama beast it helped to create. Maybe MSM thinks if Obama's trashing of constitutional bounds isn't live on TV, the sheeple won't see what he's doing as important.
Of all the Obama prime time addresses, this is the one where he's taking his role as president farthest from its constitutonal limits. He is, in effect, changing the nature of American government. If you wanted fundamental transformation, this is it.
What's happening now is unprecidented in the history of America. Join us Friday (or for the replay that follows) as we continue to connect the dots in these perilous times.

People are highly motivated by the thought that they might lose out on something. When humans don't have enough of something, that fact dominates our consciousness….or the perceived lack of something.
Greed shows up when there’s an assumption of lack…or scarcity. Eldar Shafir writes, “it appears that poverty (or poverty of mind) itself reduces cognitive capacity. We suggest that this is because poverty-related concerns consume mental resources, leaving less for other tasks. Shafir calls this problem bandwidth poverty. When you're bandwidth poor, you're thinking about how to pay for food and make rent today — and it's almost impossible to think about the future.”
Michael Neill - The scarcer the resource, the more we are willing to give up in order to get it; the more common the resource, the less we are willing to give up in order to get it.
The FEAR of not having enough is a critical form of leverage to settle for less than God’s best.
Maggie Haydock shares a familiar story with a twist:
Once upon a time there were three little pigs. When they turned 18, the little pigs left home to seek their fortune.
Their first priority was finding shelter. The first pig built a house out of straw that he found scattered on the ground. The second pig built a house out of sticks that he scavenged from the woods....

"the daily complaint"
Every weekday we answer client complaints on The Daily Complaint to provide direction and resources for both the person complaining as well as other consumers experiencing similar issues whether it be mortgage fraud, loan servicing escrow issues, loan modification runarounds or denials, short sale refusals, deed in lieu negotiations and credit card debt collector abuses and fraud violations.
I routinely look for posts to answer in hopes that it will not only bring optimism to those homeowners and borrowers in distress but also some basic information to assist in fighting the banks that are "too big to fail" like Bank of America and Citi but yet don't appreciate the bailout that we provided in their time of need. The debt collectors like Ocwen and Nationstar are simply just piranhas but they can be beat at their own game too just like the big banks can be defeated.
We are committed to answering consumer complaints and addressing everyday credit and debt issues on The Daily Complaint and I thank you for your continued support!
We hope you enjoy the Show...
