Susan has won numerous awards for entrepreneurship, including Small Businessperson of the Year, inclusion in the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs in the State of New Jersey.  We'll talk about that and about the messages of her books.

Dance with Jesus By Susan B. Mead

    in Spirituality

Do you often find yourself feeling lost, alone, overwhelmed and unsure how to help yourself, much less someone else in your family?
Would you like to see that someone else has walked this path, so you can? Me too. There is HOPE…
    ABOUT SUSAN
My name is Susan Burfoot Mead and I’ve been blessed to be married to my soul mate, Holt Mead, since 1979. I think the first 30 years we spent working on learning what soul mates are…Or should I ask him if we are still working on that?
I am the mother of two sons, Matthew, who lives in South Louisiana and Kyle, Forever 20 and in Heaven, where he is doing a Dance with Jesus. Kyle’s been there since March 29, 2008.
I wrote the book Dance With Jesus: From Grief to Grace as the answer to a question posed in the Experiencing God Bible Study I was in the midst of doing. The question asked was what does God want you to do, right now?
I heard deep in my spirit, “Sing My love song.” And laughed out loud. Seriously God, You will have to send me a bucket, because You KNOW I can’t carry a tune. Then the next deep spiritual nudge was, “What’s in your hand? Use it.” I was writing in the workbook, so a pen was in my hand…
I swept away the workbook, got out a clean journal and out the story poured. At 5:30 am, I looked up as I wrote the last words. The very first email I read later that day was from Proverbs 31 Ministries about their upcoming SheSpeaks 2013, a speakers and WRITERS conference. Seriously God? You WANT me to DO something with this? OK.
    So the story begins…

CHRISTIANITY - IS IT STILL RELEVANT? on "ME, GOD and A CUP OF COFFEE with Susan

    in Women

Some things just make the hair on your back stand up. This is exactly what happened when I watched Raven Symone say that every religion has its time such as pagan. I wanted to explore her comment further but I couldn't, at least no with her. So this has become the inspiration for this weeks show on "Me, God and A Cup of Coffee". "Christianity Today and, Is It Still Relevant?" - How do you feel about Christianity? Is it relevant in business, education, for single women, families, etc.? Religion today, Christianity today.  What's the diferrence? Is there a difference?  I know it's controversial but, that's why this is Real Women Real Talk.  Please watch the video then plan to join me Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with friends. It's going to be a good one. #347-996-5568 #‎RWRT2015 COME HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE ON ME. #‎RealWomenRealTalk

Me God and A Cup Of  Coffee" is a show that recognizes that every day must start with a morning conversation with God.

    SERIAL-Susan Simpson

    in Entertainment

In 1999, the body of Hae Min Lee was found in a shallow grave in Baltimore's Leakin Park. Six weeks later, her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was arrested and charged with her murder. The state's case against Syed hinged entirely on the testimony of Jay Wilds, who said that he had been with Syed on the day of the murder, and that he had assisted with the burial in Leakin Park. At trial, the prosecutor argued that although Wilds had repeatedly given false and inconsistent statements concerning the crime, his story was corroborated by Adnan's cell phone records. Syed was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison; Wilds pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact, and was released without serving a day in prison.

Last year, the creators of This American Life covered Syed's story in the popular podcast Serial. In order to better visualize the events that were being described on the show, Attorney Susan Simpson put together a series of maps comparing the location data from the cell records with the various witness statements concerning the location of the phone throughout the day on which Hae Lee was murdered. The result showed just how fragmented and incoherent the prosecution's case was, as none of Wilds' multiple stories can be reconciled with the cell phone data. It also highlighted many of the gaps in the prosecution's evidence, and showed how numerous witnesses who could potentially have confirmed or denied Jay's stories were never contacted by investigators.
