Earlier this year she summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's highest free-standing mountain, in Tanzania, Africa. Lara is a survivor of severe, clinical depression and addiction. She is an advocate for domestic violence victims. She has trained thousands of community members, law enforcement, students and medical professionals on domestic violence.
Ms. Bell considers her career a blessing that allowed her to minister, teach, educate, and change minds about domestic abuse. As a survivor of domestic abuse, she has helped others to heal, forgive, and be restored from the wounds it leaves.
Ms. Bell authored, One Voice Many Faces, which features her personal journey thru domestic violence with a spiritual perspective. Kwesi Ronald Harris is the Director of the African American Male Resource Center at Chicago State University, he is also a survivor who is still battling prostate cancer, as well as a close friend of recording star Lupe Fiasco. A Chicago-native who has traveled coast to coast presenting about youth leadership development, alcohol, tobacco, substance abuse prevention and media advocacy. Kwesi has coached thousands of youth and adults to be committed leaders in their community by teaching character development, relationship building, violence prevention, conflict resolution and cultural reclamation.

She is the Founder of Walking Into A New Life, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to stop domestic violence and help stabilize victims. She is Nationally Credentialed as a certified Domestic Violence Advocate. As a domestic violence victim turned survivor and advocate, the facilitator, speaker, presenter and panelist routinely hosts events designed to educate, inspire and inform communities about the importance of establishing holistic health and wellness, self worth & tangible self sufficiency. She has received a number of awards, nominations & acknowledgments for her efforts as an entrepreneur and advocate, including proclamations from the City of Memphis & Shelby County Mayors, as well as an official letter of support from Congressman Steve Cohen. She works with a number of individuals, businesses and organizations locally, while maintaining national relationships, including Mr. Anthony Porter, international lecturer, author and co-founder of A Call To Men, whose work involves the behaviors of men and domestic violence. In August, 2013, she was asked to participate in the Praxis International Advocacy Learning Academy, an 18th month program providing extensive training and examination of the issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault.
