It's time to help other survivors who are suffering find "The Courage to Heal" and Faith Reagan, host of the Surviving With Faith Radio Show, will be doing just that as she presents this multi-show series for survivors near and far!
You may be asking yourself what exactly this is about. "The Courage to Heal: A Guide for Women Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse," authored by Ellen Bass and Laura Davis is an empowering guide for survivors as they work through their healing journeys. Written with compassion and warmth, the reader is gently guided through the steps of healing, beginning with "taking stock" and "recognizing the damage" and then continuing on to the "healing process."
It is during this process that the reader/survivor learns to understand that the abuse was not their fault and learns to trust oneself. You learn that grieving and mourning is an integral part of the journey as you find ways to unleash the emotions, which have been smothered by the voicelessness of your inner child, and how to move on.
As your journey moves forward, you will learn about "changing patterns" and becoming aware of behaviors, which you want to change, and how and why these behaviors were developed. With change often come obstacles and challenges, facing fear and striking down the negative self-talk that holds you back. You will learn how to celebrate the achievement of your goals - no matter how small or how grand and claim the life you want to be living, the life that you deserve to be living!
"The Courage to Heal" is for women and men survivors of child sexual abuse as well as advocates, counselors, coaches, supporters, partners, family, and friends of survivors.

Join us as host Faith Reagan continues with the third show in "The Courage to Heal Series," which is based on the book "The Courage to Heal: A Guide for Women Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse," authored by Ellen Bass and Laura Davis.
As the last show ended, Faith was discussing the process of taking stock and explaining the "building blocks of safety" including how to create ground rules, create boundaries (or as Laura Davis put it "build a container"), find a safe spot, establish your privacy, and establish a protective pattern and/or routine. Faith will pick up where she left off in establishing a protective pattern and then continue with building your support system by making lists and asking yourself the right questions to know who directly supports you in your healing. After answering these questions, things to think about are: Were there any surprises in looking at all the people in my life and, if so, what were they? Can I imagine someone supporting me and why or why not? What's standing between me and a better support system?
Tune in to learn how to progress on your healing journey. May peace be with you!

As stated before, although not necessary for participation or listening, I encourage you to acquire your own copy of both "The Courage to Heal" and "The Courage to Heal Workbook" if you are able. Not only will the workbook provide you with exercises and activities, it will also serve as a journal of your journey.

God knows everything and despite what might seem tardy with His way, yet He is always right on time.
This is a short program to help you refresh your mind concerning God's goodness and His promises.
Can I just say, Republicans/Christians, some of them.... Let's be honest, most of us, are wusses.
We whine when the press treats us unfairly as compared to how they treat the left.... Here is breaking news..... The Press IS the Left!!!!
I mean honestly, is the situation in America REEEEEEALLY as bad as all of us doom and gloomers say or are we just negative nellies?
Why don't we just wait and see if "America" nominates the right man or woman in the Republican Primary and then if THAT is the one we want then we will just become engaged again... Otherwise.... Maybe we "Christians" just stay home and refuse on principle to vote for the "lesser of two evils Republican establishment pick?
If the right's guy doesn't get elected and it all falls to Hell in a handbasket, maybe that is the best thing for America, for us to go down in flames and then we really good people who sit on the sidelines "on principle" will suddenly become the brave patriots we always pretended to be and we will finally come to the rescue of this once great land?
What does "go down in flames" look like and feel like? Do you really want to know? I will tell you... today at 4pm EST - Share this with your friends!

If your first thought was that we lived on our savings, think again. Here are some bullet points of what route we chose to go when we were faced with no income for a full year:
We did not have a savings to live from
We did not go on a government assistance program
We did not move in with family to avoid mortgage or rent
We did not split up our family to handle the situation.
Some of the things we did do were:
Live off the garden.
Waste NO food.
Barter food items.
Sell off most of our belongings.
Downsize to one car.
Cut out most entertainment.
You'll have to listen to the show to hear how we did this...
Have fun and enJOY the journey!

Welcome to Happiness Index. Today we will continue to explore the ideas we hold about Hope, Faith & Service as a path to happiness. Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large. Faith is a sense of knowing and a tapping into a deep belief of what will be. We will deepen our understanding of race, hope and service as implicated in our book Beyond Fear, we explored these issues personally, communally and in-depth. Vaclav Havel said it best that, Hope is not prognostication. It is an orientation of the spirit, an orientation of the heart; it transcends the world that is immediately experienced, and is anchored somewhere beyond its horizons. Service is the practice of bringing our hopes to life. It is an action – an art of being helpful to another. Blessed is the man that finds wisdom because length of days is in her right hand and riches and honor in her left hand.
2 Peter 1:2-7
3 ... His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature
