  • Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE®)

    in Health

My guest today is Dr. David Berceli, PhD, creator of TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise) which is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by recent research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. This natural shaking/vibrating response appears to be the body’s own built-in system for quieting down the brain and releasing muscular tension as a way of healing itself from chronic stress, tension and trauma

Dr. Berceli explains the potential therapeutic value of tremors in this Youtube video and is the author of Shake it Off Naturally.

This Youtube video is a testimonial of a man diagnosed with Essential Tremors who found TRE helpful.

We often attend events to network and check out up and coming talent in our local city and beyond. We were recently asked to be on the official panel for the ATL Listening Jam held by Dynamicvisions. We offered our expertise and also a prize for the artist who presented the record that got the best response from the crowd and panel. That prize was a live interview on K-100 Radio, and the winner was an artist from Cali named MASH. He presented his song "Gangsta Muzicc" and had the crowds head boppin. So check out the interview and listen to the music and get familiar with MASH.

  • Storyshucker Stu Perkins on Tell Me a Story

    in Culture

Storyshucker Stu Perkins on Tell Me a Story – no need to pinch yourself, it is actually happening today, Friday, August 28th.  We have tried a couple of times but the 3rd time has indeed been the charm for us here at The Magic Happens Radio Network. Visiting Stu’s blog, Storyshucker, and reading his tales is like taking a step back in time to when people took priority over popularity and family was the ‘inter-net’ where you learned everything. Oh, and that blog address is http://www.storyshucker.wordpress.com so be sure to head over and catch up the archives and see what heart-warming story has been shucked of late.  Also, keep an eye open for a brand new Chicken Soup for the Soul book, Volunteering and Giving Back, because Stu Perkins is one the contributing writers.  We cover this and more in today’s Tell Me a Story, a presentation of The Magic Happens Radio Network. Find us at http://www.themagichappens.com/

    E-Motion: The Power of Hope

    in Psychology

Bob Zima, MA/LCPC, is a self described Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back. He has experienced many trips to the Gates of Hell and lived to tell the tale. Plus he has learned a thing or two along the way.

In this short podcast, Bob shares with you his quirky and wacky insights and lessons learned from his adventurous and E-True Hollywood-esque trips to Hell and back. Perhaps you may be inspired by this irreverent, blazon and passionate cathartic satirist who tells it like it is. Perhaps not. You will have to listen to find out.

This show is for mature audiences with open minds and souls. Healing is NOT for wimps or the weak-hearted. It is work. Hard work!

On today’s show, Bob discusses that hope is an emotion that powers behaviors that lead to changed lives. Faith fosters this e-motion that gets things moving.

    Healing Birth Trauma

    in Women

TRIGGER WARNING!  Healing birth trauma is a conversation that needs to be had and we have it with Lori Barklage from Birthing Peace Within.  So many women are 'at leasted'.. at least you have a healthy baby, at least you're ok, at least you had a good doctor  etc etc.  This does not help women feel better, it usually just serves to push their trauma deep inside hoping no-one will discover their secret.  Birth trauma needs to be acknlowedged and healed.  Today we talk about what birth trauma is, how women experience it and what you can do to begin your healing journey - maybe without even rehashing your story!  You can find out more about Lori's work here www.birthingpeacewithin.com
