    Healing Through Creativity
Hosted by Cheryl Green and Craig Sicilia

Creativity and time can heal all things.  Even though it’s been almost 10 years, the first 3 or 4 being the darkest of all.  Creativity kept me alive, kept me from letting the darkness of loss because of my disability after sustaining a brain injury.  It gave me purpose, strength and carried me through many days and months and years.

There are many forms of creativity, and hope to have many share their arts, but some that I have worked with and all were an amazing benefit, but I had to explore many different types.  And some of them worked at different times in my journey to today.  Some of the ones I have used, have been, writing in the beginning I have written thousands of pages of material, and hope to come out with a book one day, I have 2 ready to go.  But the books will change my life and how people think of me.  Writing them not only helped me deal with the darkness I was going through but also the extreme darkness before my injury.   Then it was on to writing music, forming a band, and then performing.  And as suddenly as the music came several years later it left just as quickly.  Then banner design through graphics, writing lessons and developing curriculum for schools, support groups and many others.

Other creative things like public service project, events like brain injury camp, hoopfest teams, gaming events all of which gave me purpose.  Other forms of creativity are painting, sewing, pottery, yoga, movie making, crafts like jewelry making, poems, needle work, building things, destroying things.  All help us deal with things and heal.  All give us purpose.
Love to hear what folks are doing out there, call in and share 424-243-9540

  • Happy Hour With The Crew: How do we really feel about the $20 bill

    in Radio

Tubman, an African-American and a Union spy (or was she ) during the Civil War, would bump Jackson — a white man known as much for his persecution of Native Americans as for his war heroics and advocacy for the common man — to the back of the $20, in some reduced image along with the White House. Tubman would be the first woman so honored on paper currency since Martha Washington’s portrait briefly graced the $1 silver certificate in the late 19th century. While Hamilton would remain on the $10, and Abraham Lincoln on the $5, images of women would be added to the back of both — in keeping with Mr. Lew’s intent “to bring to life” the national monuments depicted there. The picture of the Treasury building on the back of the $10 bill would be replaced with a depiction of a 1913 march in support of women’s right to vote that ended at the building, along with portraits of five suffrage leaders: Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Susan B. Anthony, who in more recent years was on an unpopular $1 coin until minting ceased. How do we really feel about it?

    in Radio

TOPIC: We will continue our discussion on the devistating alligations being made against one of our founding Fathers of HIP HOP Africa Bambaataa aka Kevin Donavan, best known for his forming of the Mighty Zulu Nation out of the south bx,along with his music influence and contribution to the culture of HIP HOP,The legend finds himself at the forfront of alleged allegations of pedifhillia and homosexuality,,,but what i find unusual is the fact that HIP HOP isnt standing up getting to the core of how deep this is and how it has effected the legacy of HIOP HOP, and the seriosness of the accusations being alleged against our brother,Africa Bambaataa

Were is the out pouring of support and protest? Were is the rallying of the HIP HOP community in support of bro Bammbaataa?
