The Barbershop: Good riddance to superstition part 3!

    in Christianity

Welcome back to the Barbershop this week the Men of ICE continue their conversation "Good riddance to superstition"

The guys at ICE Ministries have continued to stress the need for change in the Black community. The church has always been a source of change for us. But how much can we change when we keep believing the wrong things? Christianity is about faith--not superstition. Yet there are tons of beliefs we have in the Body of Christ that lean more toward fears than they do faith! We're scared of demons in music, scared of demons in movies, and scared of demons in Muslims and Mormons. We play Last Airbender in the pulpit, and have practices closer to mesmerism than ministry. We keep trying to play Pin The Tail on the Anti-Christ or Guess When Jesus Comes Back. No more games! It's time to shake off superstition and embrace the historic Christian faith! We will be attacking and debunking superstitions in the church--this Sunday, in The Barbershop!

God is calling and His sheep hear His voice and follow His lead.

    in Current Events

The faith of godly people in times past was not effective because of their religion, but it was filled with power because of their God. God has begun moving by His spirit and the people are being moved by Him in their prayer, their worship and their obedience. Because God's sheep hear His voice, but the wicked and unbelieving cannot hear or see any evidense of God's influence, the people of God are being instructed and being shown the work God is doing in His people. But unbelievers consider the behavior of people that walk with God to be foolishness and superstition. The wicked mock and despise God's children because there is nothing in them that allows them to truly understand or believe in the One who created all things because their blindness is part of their nature. Only the people who have been born of the Spirit will be able to see and walk in the things of God's kingdom, because the things of the spirit are invisible to those who are in the kingdoms of this world.

Kings and Priests: The Power of Names, Black Edition

    in Religion

Throughout the ages poets and philosophers have mused about the nature of names and the effect they have on the holder? Some names were considered mundane while others were considered sacred. Some names were known openly while others were shrouded in secrecy. For it was widely accepted in the old world that the name of a thing was the key to understanding and manipulating its power. By today’s standards these notions may appear to be nothing more than superstitious jargon - but to the Ruling Elite of this world the Power of Naming is much more. It is the secret weapon in an age old war against the people of God, which they believe allows them to change their Destiny and the course of Human events on Planet Earth. Join us today for another installment of “Kings and Priests” as we look beyond science and superstition to find salvation in the Name above all Names “Our Lord Jesus the Christ!”

We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thur 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am.  All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Brother Marcos Program: Faith vs. Superstition

    in Spirituality

In this episode, Brother Marcos examines several different philosophies and religions and compares them with "faith."  He discusses many types of superstitions and beliefs that lead to harmful results for the people that practice them.  Spiritism, occult practices, Taoism, etc., all contain harmful superstition, but the true faith of God is beyond compare.
