    Ministry and Money Part 8

    in Christianity

Here are some more common reasons people give for wanting to be involved in ministry:

“My parents were ministers; the mantle has fallen on my generation now. Besides, what else would I do?” The Lord’s ministry can’t be passed down from one generation to the next because relationship, His Personal Presence, can’t be passed down.

“I want to be able to spend all my energy, efforts and time with God. Being involved in public ministry will keep me safe and in His will.” But the church, and ministry in particular, was never meant to be a haven from the world or a guarantee against making mistakes.

“I can do it better than what I see being done.” This probably disqualifies you from that project, at least for now.

“Look at all God has done for me! The least I can do for Him is serve Him and His people.” You’re not doing the Lord any favors by trying to do His work for Him.

“I want my life to mean something. I want it to have eternal consequences and rewards.” None of us knows what is coming next, so to try to make decisions now, and use the unknown future as a motivator, robs us of the satisfaction and relationship that the Lord has for us in the present.

“God healed and set me free. Now I want to heal and free others.” We are to neither give nor withhold according to our own judgment, but in each case depend on the Lord for His direction, resources and results.

“I need to help people; I’m happiest ministering to people.”

“I’m just following the Great Commission to ‘GO’.”

“Even if God didn’t have this ministry planned for me, I’m sure He appreciates all the work I’ve done for Him.”

    Ministry and Money Part 7

    in Christianity

Here are some more common reasons people give for wanting to be involved in ministry:

“A true prophet prophesied over me, it was confirmed, and I knew in my heart.” If a particular project (ministry) has been assigned to us by God, He is the only One Who can confirm it.

“I need to help people; I’m happiest ministering to people.” We don’t want to make decisions on what we want or don’t want, but as our temperament is freed to be joined to His will, we submit our wants and desires to His.

    THE FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER

    in Prayer

Can you imagine what it would be like to live without water? In our part of the world woter is so plentiful that we take it for granted. We never give it a though. Yet each of us cannot survive more than three days without it. There are places on earth where the pursuit of potable water is constant. Similarly, our spiritual survival depends on a constant source of Divine Water. The LORD is the source of that Water. He is the "Fountain of Living Water."

We are invited to drink daily. Please join us for live, living prayer Mon.-Fri. at 6:00 AM. Dial 714 459-3963.

    Ministry and Money Part 6

    in Christianity

Members of a church or supporters of ministries aren’t doing ministers any favors by supporting them financially if they aren’t ministering the life of God, as evidenced by freedom, healing and rest in their own lives and in the lives of those they minister to. When we fail to seek and hear from God regarding who to support financially, we rob ourselves of the riches that others have already purchased.

In this sense, the church is getting what she’s paid for; we have available all the conferences, books, movies, messages, schools, teachings and programs we can stand, yet we experience very little of the direct relationship with God that changes, frees and heals us.

Of course, if God tells you to give a certain amount to a certain person or ministry, it doesn’t matter what they are teaching or even if you agree with them. Confirm the source, then follow through.

Likewise, if the Lord decides that the task He has for you requires you to be unencumbered by an occupation, He is responsible for your compensation. If you look to the people you’re ministering to, or to your finances for support and motivation, you’ve kicked God off the throne of your self-life in favor of the security of the control of your livelihood...which may very well be part of the lesson He’s trying to teach you.

Almost immediately upon experiencing salvation, many new believers are told that now that they have been born again, regenerated, they must get involved in the church in order to fulfill additional requirements. There is something within most believers that does indeed respond to these instructions; because His giving nature is now our giving nature, without even being aware, we desire to share and give what we have received.

A “God-Sent Minister” is Chosen, Taught, Tested, Trained, Equipped, Motivated, Sent, Supported, Corrected and Honored by God.

Sherri Wargin - The Supernatural Birth of Jesus

    in Christianity

Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  God sent His only Son, Jesus, who was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit to be born to the virgin Mary. The Father God transferred the life of Jesus from heaven to the womb of Mary by means of Holy Spirit. This child, Jesus, was prophesied to be King of the Jews and to be the Savior of all mankind. Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." God surrounded this miraculous event with many angelic visitations and supernatural dreams so that the birth of Jesus could be fulfilled.

Let's celebrate this blessed event of the birth of Jesus and worship Him as our Lord and King!! "For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions

    in Books

December 25, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE ~ Life Changing Talk Radio

THEME: Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions (Re-broadcast)

    INTERVIEW GUESTS:

Couples from across the United States join the show’s hosts Earl Cobb and Dr. Charlotte Grant-Cobb to read and discuss their favorite dialogue from the new book, “Pillow Talk Consciousness: Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions.”

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

Pillow Talk Consciousness is a unique essay on America, its social & political challenges and the power of human consciousness. The book cleverly illustrates how our birthplace and the level of consciousness we obtain during our lives, eventually frame how we see ourselves, how we see others and how we see our world. It does this through a thoughtful collection of 100 entertaining, informative and provocative dialogues. Each dialogue is written to reflect commonly held thoughts and suspicions on topics that frame the lives and the conversations of average Americans in the 21st century. All are written with a candor that is expressed by the majority of Americans only in the safety and privacy of their own home, with a trusted partner and wrapped in a momentarily abnormal level of human consciousness. The topics range from education to family values; from war to politics and from music to motherhood. Join three couples from across the U.S. as they read and discuss their favorite dialogues and share your own thoughts.
