Megan Griffiths was born in Ohio, lived in Moscow, Idaho in her teens and was an undergraduate at the University of Idaho, where she earned a B.A. in visual communications. She went on to received an MFA in Film Production from Ohio University School.
Megan Griffiths has been a director, writer and producer in the independent film community for over a decade. Her most recent feature is Lucky Them, which premiered at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and stars Toni Collette, Johnny Depp, Thomas Haden Church and Oliver Platt. Her previous feature, Eden starred Jamie Chung, Matt O'Leary and Beau Bridges and premiered at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival in Austin. The film won the Audience Award and Megan received the Emergent Narrative Female Director award from Chicken and Egg Pictures. and Earth, One Way To Heaven and Memoirs Of An Accidental Hustler, to name a few. He is
also the co-author of the non-fiction motivational books From Incarceration 2 Incorporation.
In addition, he has contributed to several anthologies with some of Urban Fiction’s top
authors. J.M. is known for his impeccable work ethics and his generosity when it comes to
guiding and assisting aspiring writers wanting to become published authors. J.M. joined
team O.W.L. in 2013 where he intends to demonstrate the highest level of storytelling and

Daniel Hoyos is an indie film producer and new director of the popular Seattle Shorts Film Festival now in it’s 4th year. After graduating with a degree in film and communications in 2009, Daniel got his first job working for the nationally syndicated TV Show “Biz Kids” on PBS, as a production assistant. The following year, he got hired at the international film festival “National Film Festival for Talented Youth” as the submissions and programming intern. Since then, he worked at the “Children’s Film Festival of Seattle” where he helped program the week long 2011 festival, at the Northwest Film Forum.
In 2012, his short film “Play for Me” won best cinematography at the 2012 Sierra Canyon Film Festival in Hollywood. That same year, Daniel produced “No One Knows." The two lead child actors -- Sami Isler and Caleb Barwick -- went on to star in NBC's "Sean Saves the World," and Lifetime's "Army Wives." The film was accepted into 18 film festivals and will premiere on the Shorts HD Network, part of Direct TV, later this year. Daniel is also the film editor at the national magazine "I Am Entertainment."
In December 2013, Daniel became the festival director of the Seattle Shorts Film Festival after taking over from the founder of who retired in 2012.
The Seattle Shorts Film Festival begins November 15th at SIFF Film Center. This year, 28 filmmakers are expected to attend from across the country, along with special guest speaker sag-actress Venus Demilo Thomas from Nickelodeon's "Salute Your Shorts."
Some of the films Daniel will be discussing are "A Fish Tale," "Lunch," "The First Hope," "Water, Ice, Snow" and "The Father."
On the latest episode of the BIG show, we sit down with the writer/director of the upcoming film, Dear White People, Justin Simien. The film, which won an audience award at the Sundance Film Festival, is a satirical look at race on a contemporary college campus. Christine is an 8th degree Black Belt, holds 9 World Championships, including consecutive 3-time World Titles at the W.A.K.O Games. Christine has acted for both film and television, including the feature films Sci-Fighter (aka X-Treme Fighter) and 27 Dresses. Her stunt work can be seen in a number of Hollywood productions, including Batman and Robin, and The Next Karate Kid. She has appeared on TV in WMAC Masters & Mortal Kombat Annihilation, and did the martial arts choreography for the film Champions of the Deep (2012).
Marcos began intensive training in: Karate Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Capoeira, and Hapkido, and has more than twenty years of training in these forms. Marcus holds the rank of Kru in Muay Thai and also trains in other martial art forms including: Kung Fu, Boxing, Judo, Ninjitsu, and Gracie Jui Jitsu. He is the NJ StateTaekwondo Champion 1994, YB Choi Taekwondo Invitational Champion 1995, and the Muay Thai Warriors Cup Super-Heavy Weight Champion 2010. He was also a certified personal trainer, gym owner, professional fighter, bodyguard, and has taught martial arts and self-defense locally and internationally for the last twenty-four years. Marcus also works as an actor and stuntman.
