World Footprints returned to New Orleans for our 7th annual French Quarter Festival 2-hour broadcast. This year we set up at Tableau Restaurant, Dickie Brennan's newest culinary gem in Jackson Square.
The first hour of World Footprints showcase New Orleans international outreach, the arts and history. We introduce a hidden gem, The New Orleans Historic Collection. The Historic Collection is a museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to the study and preservation of the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South region. New Orleans' homegrown stars, The Boswell Sisters, are featured and the exhibit's curator Mark Cave and the granddaughter of Vet Boswell, Kyla Titus, joins us for a lively discussion.
We also talk about a special event that the world is sharing this year--the 70th anniversary of the landing at Normandy. The National World War II Museum's Alan Raphael joins us to talk about how the museum is commemorating this anniversary and the special role that New Orleans played in WWII.
We promise you'll enjoy this first hour and we invite you back to listen to the 2nd hour broadcast where we talk about the history of Voodoo and spotlight the contributions of Africans in New Orleans.
Devin Halden is an entertainment entrepreneur with focus on the production and distribution of media properties across multiple platforms. Halden launched Pixovi Movie Network in May of 2010. Visitors of the platform immediately experienced the robust and versatile capabilities that the multi-platform distribution company offers. Pixovi is most accurately an IPTV, providing the capabilities of operating similar to a cable or satellite company. Through Pixovi, producers can now distribute and exhibit their film(s) to a global audience through a variety of applications and devices . Unlike other VOD platforms that are designed on a quantity over quality model, Pixovi is built around the opposite mode of thought. Halden understands that Pixovi members want a wide selection, but Halden believes that can still be achieved with each film offering being of the highest quality. Halden’s knowledge of both traditional distribution lifecycles and techniques as well as the new distribution plans that utilize new technology and media, has laid the foundation for his blueprint for a successful independent film release, a blueprint that keeps the control of the IP and accounting in the hands of the producers and maintains transparency throughout the entire lifecycle of the film. Pixovi continues to design and implement existing and proprietary technologies as a way to solidify its longevity and its pioneering spirit in the movie distribution and exhibition market. My name is Bob Zima and I am a Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back.
One thing I have learned on my various travels to find hope and healing is that fun and laughter and sense of adventure are vital companions.
I love hockey, NASCAR, adventure and thriller movies, the beach, my wife and kids and so much more. Each and every day I make it a point to improve my psychological fitness skills so that I can maintain my mental and behavioral health and wellness. Ain't easy. It is a struggle.
I try to make the science and the "industry" of psychology easier to understand and actually use.
I try to make the search for fun and healing adventurous and exciting. I inspire people to get their head out of their ass and their ass off of the couch and improve the quality of their lives TODAY. Why wait? Life is passing you by.
I am a quirky, outspoken, irreverent, authentic and energetic frequent flyer to hell and back who just happens to host his very own radio show and podcast. I also write a blog, books and produce funny and educational videos!
