Certified Integrated Transformational Life Coaches Vicy Wilkinson and Ingrid Sthare talk with listeners about things that are difficult and very uncomfortable to discuss as part of a series called Stuff That's Hard To Discuss. This first episode is about a subject that is very personal for both coaches, especially since one of their areas of expertise is helping people recover from huge losses and to actively engage in the grieving process, and they themselves have had a lot to grieve during the past year. This episode shares information, tools, personal experiences with being a "survivor of suicide," and avenues of assistance for people suffering from depression and illness that can lead to suicidal thoughts, ideations, and actions, and for people who are grieving the loss of someone who has taken his or her own life.
You can find more about Ingrid and Vicy, and Complete Life Coaching's programs and services, including a group course for grief and loss called "Empowered Recovery: Losing Someone Else and Finding YourSELF" at the website: www.CompleteLifeCoaching.com.
Thank you for being courageous enough to talk about Stuff That's Hard To Discuss.

In January of 2011, I tried to kill myself. Healing from that Major Depression episode has been long and complex, yet since that day I have had two books published sharing my story. In recovery, I have led a growing number of seminars and workshops honestly discussing mental illness and how to be an effective support. I confront stigma and misunderstanding head-on.
I am a woman with intensive and revealing insight into a massive, world-wide issue - depression, and its effects on significant others. Depression is the number one commonality of all human suffering yet generally people are ill-equipped to face it. Even the suicide of Robin Williams has brought public confusion to the spotlight.
I am an expert on what it is like in the mind of a majorly depressed and suicidal person and what is working for me to gain and maintain a mindset of hope. The ideas I share are practical and are part of what is statistically successful as treatment. I can also share applicable ideas on how to support struggling friends and family members without becoming overwhelmed.
How many of us just cannot get our minds right? How many of us have thoughts that are not right? How many of us have a mind vs. spirit battle going on? Just know that you are not alone. Many are dealing with thoughts of worthlessness, self-hate, feeling inadequate, suicidal, or just not good enough. But I am here to tell you that YOU ARE SOMEBODY because GOD made you SOMEBODY. You are not the piece of crap your mind tells you you are. You are not the dummy or the no good person someone spoke over you and that you keep playing over and over again in your mind. You are NOT WORTHLESS but in your mind, you keep telling yourself that. It's time to WAKE UP OUT OF SLEEP and ARISE in the Spirit and be who GOD has called you to be. It's time to stop Measuring yourself against another and know that God made you, FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY. Now, join us this evening as we TAKE AUTHORITY over NEGATIVE THOUGHTS, STINKING THINKING, AND WORDS THAT DESTROY,
CALL A FRIEND
CALL A FAMILY MEMBER
CALL WHOMEVER YOU THINK MAY NEED A HEALING IN THEIR SOUL...........FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, IT'S THE LORD'S.

Today Nick & Joanna will be discussing the intricate web of psychiatry and pharmaceuticals. It seems these days that a psychiatrist's job is only about prescribing toxic medications without addressing the whole person. Patients are also told that they should not come off of these drugs once they are on them.
Is there actually a test to determine whether someone has low serotonin in their body? Should there be? Just as there is a test to determine blood sugar & whether someone has diabetes....
Do you know what the DSM 5 is? Diganostic and Statistical Manual of Psychiatric Illness
Can pharmaceuticals actually cause the symptoms they are designed to treat? What about suicial / homocidal ideation?
Where does the processing of feelings and emotions come in as a means to healing those traumas that cause anxiety, depression, "mood disorder", and more?
Where does nutrition and mind/body practices fit in to the therapeutic envireonment in which people need to heal? Is awareness or consciousness a factor?
What are the options for people who have been hopistalized? Are hospitals actually therapeutic environments in which patients can heal themselves?
Can things like meditation, hypnosis, yoga, nutrition, and breathing help?

ABOUT PAULETTE: My mission in life is to collaborate with people to create extraordinary lives; to support them in being the wonderful, naturally creative, resourceful and whole person they were born to be and therefore more than able to realize their dreams and fulfill their heart's desires. I am committed to partnering with my clients to produce the results they want and help them reach their professional, vocational, and/or personal goals in every area of their life (i.e., relationally, emotionally, financially, creatively, spiritually, physically, etc.)
Eventually, my heart led me back to Washington, DC, where I started a computer training company from scratch; eventually employing 21 people. In spite of the financial success I experienced, along with the awe and admiration of family and friends, it wasn't long before I began to sense a longing for something more fulfilling. This led to joining the church, committing my life to Christian ministry and attending seminary! I have pastored urban, rural and suburban churches for the past 21 years!

Spare the rod, Spoil the child. Even the Bible makes mention of disciplining children. Adrian Petersen, star NFL runnung back, has been accused of child abuse for spanking one of his children. The argument rages on the pros and cons of spanking. Is it cultural or is it just plain wrong? We will talk, plus family annihalators. Why would a grandfather shoot his daughter and her 6 children before finally turning the gun on himself. Also, a man who was fired from UPS returns the next day and kills to management level employees. To spank or not to spank and those who kill on the next BadBoy and Doc Show.

SUICIDE: WHAT ABOUT THOSE LEFT BEHIND?
We’ve all known a friend of a friend, or a family member, or even a celebrity who shocked and dumbfounded us because of his or her suicide. Your children may have school friends who have contemplated or carried out a suicide. Maybe a relative left you wondering for the rest of your life what you could have done. Perhaps you have had thoughts of killing yourself. Not a happy topic, for sure, but one which can affect all of us.
September is suicide awareness month, so this is a perfect time to discuss this topic and find out more about the whys and guilt that can accompany it.
