Welcome to Cross Link Radio's The Sugar Show episodes. Last season we broke the week down into Business, Inflammation, Wellness, Biofilm, and Leisure. This season we only have one category, Sugar! Every Wednesday we’ll explore sugars from the plant to the toilet. Shirley has found experts in all kinds of sugars, some you’ve heard of and some you haven’t. Tune in Wednesdays as we explore if sugar is really all bad.
I'll be talking to physicians, researchers, and industry people about specific sugars. Dr. John Peldyak will co-host on occasion with his vast knowledge of behind the sugar knowledge illuminating points that we'd never think about, sugar for erasing wrinkles? Sugar as insecticide? We're not kidding.
We think you'll look forward to the insights uncovered and you'll find that life can still be oh so sweet.
How much sugar do you eat a day? If you are like every other person walking the planet you consume more than 50 teaspoons of sugar per day, but According to the World Health Organization (WHO) we should only consume 6 teaspoons per day. The overconsumption of sugar leads to health problems for people of all ages. Tonight we discuss all the things sugar and what we can do to curb our appetites for sweets.

Dr. Gabriel Cousens conducted a study on the health benefits of chocolate in February of 2008. What he discovered was that raw cacao benefits diabetics as a safe food since it raises blood sugar less than almost any other food, despite it's theobromine content! It even raises insulin sensitivity! One of the other cool facts about chocolate that he discovered was that it's not toxic to the liver (many people are falsely claiming the contrary), except when combined in large amounts with sweeteners high in fructose such as agave. This is basically the only well known clinical study done specifically on how raw cacao benefits human health. [raw cacao benefits, cacao beans, cool facts about chocolate, dark chocolate antioxidants, facts about chocolate]
It, raw cacao benefits a wide range of cardiovascular issues. The dark chocolate antioxidants and abundant amounts of magnesium and other phytochemicals can balance blood pressure, lower high cholesterol, scrub away arterial plaque and promote general health by reversing heart disease. (Raw) chocolate bars are known as a great remedy for many menstruation issues women can get. It is also confirmed as an aphrodisiac for both genders.
The famous "Dutch study", which was done on regular processed chocolate, followed over 200 Dutch men over the course of twenty years and found that those who ate the most milk and dark chocolate had lower rates of all major diseases compared to those who ate little to no chocolate.
In a Harvard controlled study on the Kuna indian tribe off the coast of Panama. The Kuna tribe lived in an area where cacao trees grew abundantly. They would consume up to 5 cups of a bitter dark chocolate drink on a daily basis . This resulted in them having lower rates of all major diseases as well as a longer average life expectancy. This study lead by Dr. Hollenberg spurred more research on the health benefits of chocolate.

Special Guest: Paula Naples
Hi! I'm Paula Naples! I am a certified aromatherapist. My company is Pure Sense by Paula and I have a Custom Blending Bath & Body store in Santa Monica, CA. As a massage therapist with an aromatherapy background, I founded the company in 2000 in response to my and some of my friend's and families' sensitivities to commercial fragrance and perfumes on the market. Because of my love of nature, I was determined to find products that smelled wonderful but without any of the negative side effects. Our carefully selected essential and fragrance oils are of the highest quality and are highly concentrated, long lasting and contain no alcohol.
We use NO ALCOHOL, NO MINERAL OIL, NO PETROLEUM PRODUCTS, and NO ANIMAL TESTING
Currently, I have expanded into the wholesale market. We sell our Soy Candles, Body Souffle ,(whipped shea butter cream), and our Skin Smoothing Sugar Scrub wholesale and private label. Some of our clients have been: The Four Seasons (Beverly Hills), The Ritz Carlton (Marina del Rey), Marks Garden Florist in Sherman Oaks, Watr Essence Mermaid Oil, Stacia - Bungalow Scent, and Oasis Spa Palisades who carries our products.
Some will order the event on pay-per-view, some will not. Many will watch through alternative means or go to fight parties. After Saturday, all will look for a new statement on the legacy of the victor, for better or worse.
On the best Saturday in sports, the high stakes playoff games of the NBA and NHL, the intrigue of baseball, the shoehorned "me too!" end of the NFL Draft and the Kentucky Derby are actually preludes to a historic evening in Las Vegas.
On a Wednesday edition of The Exchange, Sumit and Jason are joined by The Sports Fan Journal's boxing and MMA columnist Paul Navarro as they will discuss the welterweight megafight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. They will not only dive into their observations of the fight itself, but the controversies around it. With boycott calls as well as the well-sourced Deadspin article regarding Mayweather's history with domestic violence, what will still end up being the most lucrative fight card in boxing history is also one with an omnipotent morality play.
They will also discuss where the sport has been trending with its increased presence on television thanks Al Haymon's multi-channel Premier Boxing Champions series.
Come through The Exchange live in the chat room, on Twitter (@skd_thExchange, @asportsscribe & @fightlikesugar) and the phone lines at 347-202-0247. Don't forget to add The Exchange to your favorites on Stitcher Radio!
Thou shalt not covet thy Cuban neighbor's goods.
I love it when communist presidents take over another communist country. Long before Elian Gonzalez was kidnapped on American soil by the Clintonistas with the help of CNN and Geraldo Rivera. Then sold to Fidel Castro for future favors. Bararak Hussein (what a joke) Obama bin Lenin bin Laden is now calling in the marker. Having received his special call from the Kremlin that Castro was about to be overthrown by his starving (with the best health care) people. Obama bailed out his communist partners in crime. Now it is democrat leach time as the communist capitalists start to exploit the poor of Cuba and swindle them of any assets they have left. Starting with 50's base ball cards and classic cars. Moving right along to bacardi rum, sugar and those famous cigars. Nothing But Communists NBC( The Voice of Obama ) has already been granted a boon. Conehead O'Brian ( Gyppo the Informer) has done the first Obama controlled show from Havana. Now we hear that Cuba has minerals including gold teeth which will be mined by friends of Obama and Hitlery hot hot hot Clinton. This is all with the blessings of the demo commo supporters who will be the first into Cuba to sample low priced hookers, Three dollar beach front hotel rooms and eleven cent Cuba libres. NOT TO MENTION BUYING DRUGS DIRECT FROM THE FACTORY. To return home to brag they only tipped twenty five cents to the little skinny Cuban who carried all nine bagsat once.
You might say this is fiction but I say I am Pretty close to the truth. Bartender Champagne and read this man his Merengue warning.
