Business Blitz with Author Glen Warren and Speaker Dana Martin

    in Business

Glen Warren, a community leader and founder of Fathers Forever, a Raleigh (NC)-based non-profit organization, has authored a new book entitled Chat and Chew. The book holds 31 short stories featuring a unique blend of Warren’s perspective as a single father of three,  a 25-year Social Worker/Counselor for Wake County (NC), a religious leader, and non-profit leader of Fathers Forever, created to strengthen men and reunite families.

Each Chat and Chew story is meant to compel, inspire and motivate readers to view life from a different vantage point. The book also serves as a self-help tool to overcome a myriad of obstacles all human beings face throughout our individual and collective journeys through life.

Glen is a much sought after motivational speaker and has been dubbed the Global Social Worker because of his passion to spread love where there is indifference, to bring hope in the face of despair, and inspire creativity in the midst of destruction. His passion flows through his Chat & Chew stories.

Dana Martin is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga. She is founder of Spoken 4 Causes Inc, a non-profit organization focused on community outreach, youth development, education and total rehabiliation. Martin is also a singer, songwriter, and motivational speaker. She believes everyone has purpose, and our youth need the right path to be able to walk in their purpose.  Each day, we are given a reset button, a chance to be greater today than we were yesterday. Martin has learned to live in purpose, on purpose and hopes, in life, that she can help make a difference in at least one person's life.

Breaking the Chains....10,000 Strong and Counting

    in Motivation

    I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee!

Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality.

So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our families and our communities? How are we Leading Change?

Just over fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we are uniting to become a beacon of light and love to usher in greater transformation within our capacity to love that will impact this city. As Detroit goes, so does the nation.

Grass roots organizations, churches and community business groups are raising the bar on what's possible so we evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for the elevation of our consciousness to enlarge what's possible for us as spirits in human form. We are encouraging each one to search their hearts and find their destiny so they can powerfully play a role in Detroit's Re-birth that causes the world to know that Love is the Power that uplifts us all and brings balance.

Today, we are sharing more on the Power of Collective Collaboration.  We are inviting women from the Detroit Metropolitan area to join us on Sunday, Oct 11th at 3pm to celebrate ourselves and our collective power so this community takes notice of our presence, and respect our requests for better schools, safer streets, equal pay, clean air, and the many causes that we all represent.

Can you imagaine having 10,000 women answering the call to support your cause to create change? This is why we are gathering. We are not a protest, a march or a rally. We are a GATHERING to collective support each other.

We are powerful, and together we rise!

    the Family Meeting

    in Self Help

Tuesday, on "The Family Meeting" I'm "coming out" about my MIA. There is  a difference between depression and feeling sad. In the African American  community there is stigma that it is a "weakness" so the rate of suicide amongst the men is greater than other ethnicities. Children get depressed too. Parents might dismiss their child being sad and in actuality they are depressed. Just because you can't see it, it doesn't mean it hurts.
