SOAD Radio Show with Special Guest Walt Realer

    in Entrepreneur

    Walt Realer Story

I graduated from Academy Park HS in Sharon Hill. I attended Virginia Stat Univ and Delaware County Community College. I held a number of jobs working for the post office, ups, iron mountain before getting a job with General Electric back in 1992. I worked there for almost 11 years before the plant was closed. During that time in 1996 my mother started the cleaning service. I worked for the company part time just to help out and make a few extra bucks. When my plant closed in August of 2002 I went home and talked to my wife about layoffs and working for someone else. I told her I was thinking of working the business full time. She said she had my back. I spoke to my mother and took on the day to day responsibilities of working the business. I've had a number of clients over years. Iron Mountain being the first. Then came First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill. Neighbor to Neighbor also in Sharon Hill. Both of which are still clients today. St Paul's Baptist Church, Edward Jones in Springfield. I ran successful campaigns with living social and groupon. Done a lot of residential and commercial work as well. Our services range from carpet cleaning, general cleaning, janitorial service, wood floor restoration, stripping and waxing of tile floors and power washing. We've also done some auto detailing and snow removal from time to time. I was a member of the rotary club of eastwick pa. I coached little league football for the Christopher Arnold Athletic Association

    The May-Pac/Jon Jones Call-in Special

    in Sports

It's time for what some people are already calling the fight of the century even before it actually goes down. The Fight News Unlimited crew will reserve our judgment for after the fight. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are finally going to fight. Tom Padgett, Tony Penecale, and Rich Bergeron will break down their picks for the outcomes, which run the table of possibilities. We will also discuss the unfortunate and unprecedented stripping of the UFC Light Heavyweight Title from Jon "Bones" Jones, who is facing potential jail time in a hit and run incident in which a pregnant woman broke her arm. The UFC suspended Jones indefinitely after the MMA star allegedly ran from the scene of the accident after retrieving cash from the rental car that struck two other vehicles, including the one the injured woman was in. This incident is eerily similar to the Rampage Jackson incident where he claimed to be hopped up on energy drinks, and oddly timed with Rampage's recent return to the UFC. The stage is now set for Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, a former guest of our show here. We'll also have some points in the show where we will be taking calls from listeners, so tune and and chime in if you can. We'd like to get a community opinion on these topics and other combat sports issues.

The Andrew Powell Show w/ Darrin Williamson and Eric Robinson

    in Sports

TONIGHT ON THE SHOW: The guys discuss the weird, fanless Chicago White Sox-Baltimore Orioles game earlier today which was closed to the public due to the Baltimore riots. The Houston Rockets social media manager was fired for a "distasteful" tweet toward the Dallas Mavericks. And speaking of the Mavericks, Rajon Rondo was left out of the playoff shares! Billy Donavon seems to be leaning towards the Oklahoma City Thunder job, and he seems to be the Thunder's first choice. And the debate will be on.....again.....who will be better? Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota? And if Floyd Mayweather loses against Manny Pacquiao this weekend, what would that do to his legacy and brand? Also on the show, GoDaddy will end their sponsorship with Danica Patrick after this season. And apparently Adrian Peterson wants to be a Dallas Cowboy....possible prank call from that? We'll see! And with the UFC suspending Jon Jones and stripping his title away, the guys discuss if the violent sport of UFC should have a code of conduct policy. It's a jam packed show, Miami! You can call into the show at (929) 477-1592 and you can tweet the show @andrewrpowell or @305SportsNLife. You can follow Darrin Williamson @Godschild530 and Eric Robinson @_seemyvision. The Andrew Powell Show w/ Darrin Williamson and Eric Robinson is Monday-Friday from 9:00 PM EST to 11:00 PM EST here only on MSL Radio....AND SOON: NATIONAL, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turnt Up Tuesday: Queens/Kings vs Bad Bitches/Real Niggas

    in Entertainment

The Dymonds Radio Show Presents Turnt Up Tuesday: Queens/Kings vs Bad Bitches/Real Niggas

How many times have you heard a male say he wanted a bad bitch? How many times have you heard a female say she wanted a real nigga? Well, the answer is too many damn times to count!

Entertainment and the media has brainwashed our people into following the “norm.”  In this case it is more socially acceptable to refer to women as bad bitches and men as real niggas then it is to address them as Queens and Kings.

Our youth are being influenced by these self proclaimed “bad bitches and “real niggas” in a negative way and if we don’t start educating our babies to aspire to be Queens & Kings the next generation will be on the pole stripping or on the corner selling dope.

Tonight lets have a discussion on the use of these words within our community and how those words are teaching our youth what they want to grow up to be.

Tune in at 10 PM PST and call in @ (347) 996-5750 PRESS 1 if you want to voice your opinion.

John Carver Show - The Benefits to Failure - J. K. Rowling

    in Self Help

J K Rolling is the author of the Harry Potter series of books.  Interesting that she's a BILLIONAIRE still gets nervous in front of people.  In her talk she says:

There are benefits of failure.  Imagination is very important in life.  Her parents hoped she would get a "real job."  J. K. Rolling pushed to live her dream.  The moment you are old enough to take the wheel the responsibility is up to you.  Poverty enails fear, struggle and depression.  It means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships.  Climbing out of poverty is difficult.

What she feared most was failure.  Talent and intellegence is not always enough.  In her twenties she was almost homeless and broke.  She thought she was a huge failure. She had no idea how long she was going to be broke.

Failure is stripping away of what's not important.  She began to direct all her energy to what she was meant to do...write books.  She had a big idea.  "Rock bottom was the solid foundation on which I built my life."

    J. K. Rolling invested every waking hour developing her skills.  She says," The knowledge that you have emerged wiser and stronger from setbacks means that you are, ever after, secure in your ability to survive. You will never truly know yourself, or the strength of your relationships, until both have been tested by adversity. Such knowledge is a true gift, for all that it is painfully won, and it has been worth more than any qualification I ever earned."

Truly, a lady who didn't give up.  Here is the text of her speech:

Change Is Inevitable; Struggle Is An Option

    in Spirituality

    The Wisdom:

    Change!
    Stripping away the old skin.
    Making way for
    Revolution

One thing is a constant in our universe, that is change, and now as there is a great shifting of energies on planet earth: prepare as it is now reflected on your life path.

Necessity and opportunity are now combined, making this a rarified time where your power to make positive change is at its most dynamic. It is a time that can carry you to heights you have not before imagined. No need to rush or panic, there will be time to do what must be done. And have no doubts the changes you have desired and dreamed are active as never before.

Change is going to occur; it’s an inevitable construct of time, space, Universe.  That is why we are taking the time to revisit some of the most powerful techniques for self development that exist.  These techniques are within your grasp, at no cost to you except for the investment of your Time.  Once again, this evening, we revisit the topic of meditation because meditation is one of the most powerful techniques available to you that provides the essential elements to managing change. The more you can practice these techniques, the quicker your changes will come.

You can find more of my meditations as The Halau on ReverbNation (http://www.reverbnation.com/thehalau) as well as on FaceBook (https://www.facebook.com/TheHalau).
