The Interpersonal Connection ~ HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ~

    in Spirituality

Inspirational and Encouraging Words of Wisdom, Spirit and Life To You! Mothers hold their child’s hand for a moment and their heart for a Lifetime. Mother's Day Quotes “Who ran to help me when I fell, and would some pretty story tell, or kiss the place to make it well? My Mother.” -Ann Taylor “Youth fades; love droops, the leaves of friendship fall; A mother's secret hope outlives them all.” -Oliver Wendell Holmes  “Mama exhorted her children at every opportunity to 'jump at de sun.' We might not land on the sun, but at least we would get off the ground.” -Zora Neale Hurston  “Of all the rights of women, the greatest is to be a mother.” -Lin Yutang  “The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” -Author Unknown “Making the decision to have a child-it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” -Elizabeth Stone  “Is my mother my friend? I would have to say, first of all she is my Mother, with a capital “M” she’s something sacred to me. I love her dearly...yes, she is also a good friend, someone I can talk openly with if I want to.” -Sophia Loren  “My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. “Nobody knows of the work it makes to keep the home together. Nobody knows of the steps it takes, Nobody knows-but Mother.” -Anonymous  “I remember My Mother’s Prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” -Abraham Lincoln

Urban Expressions for Jesus - Celebrating 5 years

    in Poetry

27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’[b] As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’[c]

29 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill."(Acts 17:27-29)

The End is OBVIOUSLY in SIGHT

    in Current Events

    22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

25 And this is the writing that was written, Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.

26 This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

27 Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

28 Peres; Thy kingdom is divided,

    Spiritual Roots & Earth Medicine

    in Culture

Spring is the time to plant our seeds and nourish them to fruition.  Gardening is not only grounding and balancing, but it unites us with our food source.  When we are connected to where our food comes from and when we participate in the growing of our food, we nurture our connection to nature.  Then we have a deeper appreciation for where our food comes from,  we can eat better & live healthier lives.  We also can participate in economically sustainable solutions for growing nutrient rich foods right in our communities.  When we nurture this connection to the Earth, we become more responsible as stewards of the earth and we can pass that responsibility on to our children and to future generations.

We will be joined by special guest and master gardener Ashanti Selassie of Nyahbinghi Gardens. Also joining us will be  Akiba and Karim to talk about their beautiful urban garden and Nature Culture project, and Reginald Fagan of Timbuktu LLC

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING...As you DISLIKE IT: THE ANTI-BARD CLUB!

Shakespeare died 400 years ago.  We celebrated his birthday on April 23rd, but HIS FAMOUS CRITICS LIVE ON!

CIRCA-2016...Shakespeare's towering presence in modern culture is escalating.  His reputation exits on a plane separate from other writers.  Shakespeare himself has become a precious stone set in a silver sea of words.

Over the centuries, a surprising roster of famous writers and celebrated personages have picked quarrels with the MAN FROM STRATFORD.  The complaints about THE BARD have run the gamut from moral to artistic, one type is almost unique to him...it's called  WAMS.

    STAY TUNED...

    Definiton OF WAMS...etc.

    A Mid-Summer Night's Dream...etc.

    Voltaire...etc
