    A Conversation With Steve Bluestein

    in Comedy

It is truly an honor that the incomparable Steve Bluestein, author/comedian, shares his insight with Savage & Starbuck. As a stand up comedian for over 30 years. A tv writer for 20 years. A playwright for 10 years and an author for two years, his latest book, 49 1/2 SHADES OF BLUE-STEIN  is out now and available on kindle. You won't be able to read it without rolling on the floor laughing.

His talent has been honed from years of  pounding the boards in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, Tahoe and countless comedy clubs across the nation.

As always, Steve returns to his first love, stand-up comedy, as often as possible. His stock and trade is his rapid wit and an ability to improvise on any subject at the drop of a hat.  See his show over and over again, 80% of the material will be new. "I have to do it that way," says the comedian, "otherwise I get too bored to stand on stage!"  Bored is something you won’t be; Steve is hysterical.

    Steve Bluestein; Comedian, Author

    in Culture

Comedian, author, and playwright, Steve Bluestein, who has been sober for over 30 years, joins us to talk about his early years, his life growing up, his career and his new book; It’s So Hard to Type with a Gun in My Mouth. He’ll share some excerpts from the book and a bunch of very funny personal anecdotes. When Steve walked into the Comedy Store in 1972, he knew his life would change forever. Steve had no idea how much it would change or what direction it would take. He just knew his life was about to be different. He’d no longer be the assistant buyer at The May Company, Steve would be a somebody. And he was right. Because of Steve’s career as a standup comedian, TV writer and playwright, he had traveled the world and worked with some of the biggest names in show business. Steve has fond memories and some he'd like to forget. Steve’s personal life has always been a mesh of bad relationships, lost souls and natural disasters, yet he seemed to have come to the surface like the flotsam of a shipwreck. He is a survivor, as they say and he will share the experiences that have shaped his life to date.

    in Comedy

Doing stand up comedy for over twenty years, Steve Bluestein has finally come into his own as a playwright.  His talent has been honed from years of pounding the boards in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, Tahoe and countless comedy clubs across the nation.  In the last few years his career, which had included television, feature films, cable and personal appearances has taken a new direction.  After writing for Normal Lear, he joined the sit com staff of "THIRTEEN EAST" for NBC, then went on to "TOTALLY HIDDEN VIDEO" as a segment producer for Fox TV and "THE NEW CANDID CAMERA" for Universal.  As always, Steve returns to his first love stand-up comedy as often as possible. Most recently opening for Lanie Kazan in concert and once again returning to Laughlin, Nevada to the Riverside Casino. A strong improviser, it is recommended you not sit up front if you don’t want to talk to this fast witted comedian. His stock and trade is his rapid wit and an ability to improvise on any subject at the drop of a hat.  See his show over and over again, 80% of the material will be new.
