January Jones-Think Forward to Thrive
In the landmark book Think Forward to Thrive: How to Use the Mind's Power of Anticipation to Transcend Your Past and Transform Your Life Dr. Jennice Vilhauer, Emory University psychologist, says you can train yourself to set your sights on the future, which can be the actual determination of your life to come. By thinking about and visualizing the future, the mind begins to create the problem-solving steps and thoughts that can actualize what you DO desire, not what you fear will occur from your past. In other words, it's time to step on the gas, and get out of reverse!

AMC's hit zombie drama returns this Sunday with the FIRST half of season FIVE.
Brian Lowry of Variety gave the fifth season premiere a positive review, saying "After the (rather too) long and winding road to Terminus, “The Walking Dead” opens its fifth season in spectacular fashion, a dazzling adrenaline rush filled with suspense, righteous violence and, before it’s all over, genuine emotion. Imbued with cinematic touches, the only downside to this breathtaking episode is pondering what the creative brain trust can do for an encore. Still, AMC’s megahit finds itself in a very good place, from the current makeup of its ever-evolving cast to the latitude it has earned to take unexpected detours. Given the hype surrounding the series, it’s still impressive to see the producers deliver such a feast."
Join Casey Shapiro and Marc B. Lee's party as they RETURN to view The Walking Dead on AMC!
We'll host our weekly Viewing Party as well as one in our chat room during the show.
Today I chat with Sharon Pivirotto as we discuss the 401k Client Acquistion Workshop:
Would you like to grow your 401k business but lack sales resources and qualified leads?
It continues to get more difficult to get plan sponsors’ time and attention and compete for new 401k business.
Why do some advisors consistently grow year over year while other advisors struggle to even get a qualified appointment?
The difference isn’t in sales skills or fiduciary status. The difference is hidden inside the tactics and strategies used and the implementation of those strategies.
Sharon along with Stephen Wershing and Jane Murphy have created a new workshop to help Advisors streamline and implement a new age client acquisitoin strategy.
Yvette W. Jones talks with Hassan Latif (Founder) and Sean Ahshee Taylor (Senior Case Manager) of Second Chance Center, Inc. as they share their story and how they are helping others stay out of prison.
Hassan A. Latif is the Founder and Executive Director of Second Chance Center, Inc. As a Certified Addictions Counselor he provides one on one and group counseling services throughout the Denver Metro area. A nationally certified Cognitive Behavior Change Facilitator(NCTI), he also directs the mentoring efforts of SCC, while returning to various Colorado Department of Corrections prisons, and local community corrections/half way house facilities, to offer the same supportive services.
After serving almost 18 consecutive years in Colorado penitentiaries, Hassan embarked on a career trying to help others avoid prison. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, he helps to drive that organization’s mission to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in the State of Colorado.
Sean Ahshee Taylor, was born in Springfield Massachusetts but grew up primarily in Denver Colorado. In the late eighties, at the age of 17, Sean got himself into serious trouble and was sentenced to life in prison. Upon his incarceration he began a journey of bettering himself. After serving 22 years within the Department of Corrections the outgoing Governor, Bill Ritter Jr., commuted Sean’s life sentence and he was released from prison. This former Gang Banger and Lifer is now a Case Manager, Mentor and Certified Fitness Instructor for the Second Chance Center. He is making the most of his second chance while doing his best to show others how to do the same.
