We discuss the shelling of Kent State laid on by Ohio State, breaking down everything that went right for the Buckeyes, including the excellent performance by J.T. Barrett, who threw for six touchdowns. We also discuss some of the youth movement as we saw plenty of young talent taking the field in the second half.
On the September 3, 2014 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
Several celebrities have had nudes of them released that were obtained by people hacking their accounts. Some people are suggesting that keeping your pictures in "the cloud" is not a safe way to store such pictures and that such people are just "asking for it". Others suggest that taking such pictures altogether are them asking for it. Others see hypocrisy in the treatment of female celebrities and male celebrities. I will cut through the hype and give my feelings on why some scenarios are different than the others and also explain why some of this blame being placed on the persons who took those pictures is just another example of victim blaming. Victim blaming just victimizes the victim.
More victim blaming comes at the hands of Cee Lo Green. After being accused of raping a person who was drugged, he had the gaul to suggest that sex with an unconcious person is not rape. Seriously. Forget you...
Another example where a victim is again victimized is the case of Nick Olivas, a male in Arizona who at 15 had non consensual (read rape) sexual relations with a 20 year old woman. As a 15 year old he could not consent to sex with the 20 year old but yet he is financially responsible for it? That makes zero sense.
Finally, I will discuss the ruling in Louisiana today that upheld the Louisiana ban on same sex marriage. Again, Louisiana bucks national trends to the detrement of its citizenry. Louisiana will eventually be forced to recognize marriage equality, but it will be dragged there kicking and screaming.

When a sudden tragedy occurs, like homicide, many surviving loved ones go on to do great things in memory of the one they lost. Jessalyn Dorsey is one such person.
Executive Director of Crime Victims Advocacy Council in Atlanta, GA, Jessalyn Dorsey lost her only child in 1999 to a senseless murder during a teen party. Not only was she unprepared for such a loss, as any mother would be, the event was life changing.
Often we see surviving victims who find the fortitude and courage to stand up and make changes in our system regarding crime victims. Jessalyn, through CVAC has taken the challenge and has given assistance to a growing population of victims who need help. Whether it be emotional support, or guidance through the justice system, CVAC provides much needed resources to community members facing a very uncertain and confusing time.
"CVAC is dedicated to preventing crime and assisting crime victims and their families and communities in Georgia through quality education, advocacy, counseling, and legislative initiatives," says their mission statement.
Shattered Lives Radio host, Donna R. Gore and Jessalyn Dorsey have much in common in their quest to better the lives of crime victims and upholding their rights.
Jessalyn Dorsey is a Certified Victim Advocate and over the years has served in varied positions in the CVAC organization; Volunteer (2001-2004), Vice-President (2004), President (2005-2008), Advisory Board Member (2009-2012), Support Groups Facilitator/Volunteer Coordinator (2013-present), and most recently was appointed Executive Director. In addition, she facilitates two support groups each week to educate victims on their rights and to help them cope and heal from the grief after a homicide.
