We're neither lickspittles nor hate spewers...but hey, we still analyze. Join us for the two usual suspects picking and poking the President's State of the Union and our MA Gov. Deval Patrick's State of the Commonwealth version. We'll provide our assessments of how each of these two good friends were in terms of realism and who gave the best show (or at least had the best writer).
Then in the spirit of the Super Bowl lead-up week, we'll discuss how likely each will be to achieve his stated state-of goals.
On the Wednesday January 29, 2014 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
A recap of the State of the Union address. What was good? What was bad? How many GOP responses did they have and did they bring any discussion worthy of merit to the table?
Also, what was called the "sneauxpocalypse" was more like the "neauxpocalypse" (at least in New Orleans). I will talk about how the south is embarassingly incompetent in dealing with winter weather and why we should reconsider private control of our entergy infrastructure.
All that, tweet of the week, words of redneck wisdom, headlines and more tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right!
If you want to discuss the topics of the show after the live broadcast you can always go to liberaldan.com.

Tonight President Obama will deliver his State of the Union Address. "President Obama plans to sign an executive order requiring that janitors, construction workers and others working for federal contractors be paid at least $10.10 an hour, using his own power to enact a more limited version of a policy that he has yet to push through Congress."
“You can be sure that the president fully intends to use his executive authority to use the unique powers of the office to make progress on economic opportunity, to make progress in the areas that he believes are so important to further economic growth and further job creation,” Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, told reporters on Monday.
Republicans dismissed the notion that Mr. Obama should give up on Congress and rely on his own power more. “Ronald Reagan didn’t think that, and Bill Clinton didn’t think that,” Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, said on “Fox News Sunday” over the weekend. “Frequently, times of divided government are quite good times in terms of achieving things for the American people.” Except President Obama has used executive order less than the 5 previous Presidents!
What did you think of the State of the Union 2014? In this episode I am joined by Darrell Castle as we unpack the box and blow away the smoke. You will hear our reaction to the president's comments on the minimum wage, Michelle, immigration. As an extra bonus, you will get to hear our response to the official Republican response.
This is a special edition of Home Front. After the recent State of the Union address, I participated on a conference call with Constitution Party leader, Darrell Castle.
Darrell and I discussed our reaction to the State of the Union and the Republican response.
As a former state representative I have seen plenty of political speeches and come to this with the goal of helping you see beyond the hype.
Welcome to another show at Your Place. When this show first started we took efforts to take on the hard topics that many stay away from, or try to push their agenda without really pushing the bounderies. We have had a lot of people asking us why we have strayed so far from doing this. For those that have been watching news highlights you have seen the unusual weather patterns, and more shootings in public places. We have noticed the big push to force feed the public. Same sex marriages in venues that have nothing to do with marriage. While at the same time trying to discount faith based agenda as an enemy of the public good. So know that like many of you we are aware of all that is happening around the world. Wild Bill felt that the best response was to hand pick some positive sermons to help people of faith remember where to keep their priority. With that said, Wild Bill wanted to let people know that he is not running scared from taking on the tough topics. So we are going to bring you the State of The Union Address in our own style. As always we do not claim to be the experts on the topics discussed. You have a chance to share your voice and thoughts so that you can be heard and put on the record for all to hear. We think that we all learn when we take the time to really listen to both sides and come up with an educated opion with all of the facts.
