NVFF15 coverage continues with Nick Spark and Jessica Cox of "Right-Footed"

    in Movies

I caught up with Nick Spark and Jessica Cox from Right-Footed.

Born without arms as the result of a severe birth defect, Jessica Cox never allowed herself to believe that she couldn’t accomplish her dreams.

An expert martial artist, college graduate and motivational speaker, Jessica is also the world’s only armless airplane pilot, a mentor, and an advocate for people with disabilities

Directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Nick Spark, Right Footed chronicles Jessica’s amazing story of overcoming adversity and follows her over a period of two years as she becomes a mentor for children with disabilities and their families, and a disability rights advocate working in the U.S.A. and abroad.

"Stanley," Escaped from Cabal Underground, Speaks!

    in Spirituality

"Stanley" escaped his lifetime enslavement in the secret underground of the cabal just days ago. He was part of a program to develop the high-pitched sonic "psychic" frequencies that cause mental confusion, physical pain and activation of the toxic bio-engineered parasites and nano chips (dropped in chemtrails) that are designed to sicken the population and drive Lightworkers to exhaustion.

He will reveal names, places, techniques, and tell his life story in person.  He is under protective surveillance by Higher Powers, and is working to help free others before we transition to a new Earth paradigm that will eliminate all torture, violence and abuse.

Kathryn E. May will interview him and other escapees on a special Friday night program on BlogTalkRadio.com/ChannelPanel.  8 PM EST.  All come!  You won't believe your ears!

John Carver Show - What Love Requires (Andy Stanley)

    in Self Help

Years ago I became a fan of Andy Stanley.  He's a Pastor of a church in Georgia and son of Pastor Charles Stanley.  His website shares:

INTRODUCTION The arrival of Jesus signaled the end of the Temple Model and the beginning of something brand new—an approach to faith characterized by love of others. The Temple Model is you-focused, but Jesus’ new covenant calls for a focus on the you beside you. So, what is required if we want to follow Jesus’ example and radically love the people around us? DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Talk about a time this week when someone did a small act of kindness for you. What did it do for your day or your week? 2. What are some of the costs of Christians being more concerned with following rules than in the ways they mistreat others? How might it influence the way unchurched people view God? 3. During the message, Andy said, “Your devotion to God is illustrated, demonstrated, and authenticated by your love for others.” Do you agree with that statement? Why or why not? 4. Read Matthew 25:31–40. In what ways does this passage challenge your assumptions about God? What are its implications in your daily life? 5. What is one group of people that is different from you and that you find it difficult to love? Consider the words of Matthew 25:31–40 in light of that group. What are some obstacles you would have to overcome to love that group of people? 6. Think about a difficult relationship in your life. Within the context of that relationship, what does love require of you? Be specific. What can this group do to support you and hold you accountable as you move to love that person?

Meet the Michael Stanley Mystery Duo on a special Second Sunday Crime Podcast!

    in Books

Michael Stanley is the writing team of Michael Sears and Stanley Trollip.

Both are retired professors who have worked in academia and business. Sears is a mathematician, specializing in geological remote sensing. Trollip is an educational psychologist, specializing in the application of computers to teaching and learning, and a pilot. They were both born in South Africa.

They have been on a number of flying safaris to Botswana and Zimbabwe, where it was always exciting to buzz a dirt airstrip to shoo the elephants off. They have had many adventures on these trips including tracking lions at night, fighting bush fires on the Savuti plains in northern Botswana, being charged by an elephant, and having their plane’s door pop open over the Kalahari, scattering navigation maps over the desert. These trips have fed their love both for the bush, and for Botswana.

It was on one of these trips that the idea surfaced for a novel set in Botswana with their now famous Detective Kubu. And on October 27th their fifth novel, A DEATH IN THE FAMILY will be released. Here's the first line:

'There's no easy way to say this, Kubu. Your father's dead. I'm afraid he's been murdered.'.

WIth an opening like that, it only makes sense to have them both guest on Second Sunday Crime. This is a special edition of the show. Please tune in and get to know two very talented and wryly humorous authors who are making the continent of Africa a less mysterious place for all of us.

John Carver Show - Fear Not (Andy Stanley)

    in Self Help

    From Andy Stanley:

During his earthly ministry, Jesus announced a new covenant, unhitched from the Old Testament. He initiated that new covenant when he died and rose from the dead. Suddenly, commandments that had sounded extreme when he gave them to his followers weren’t extreme at all. Thou shalt not fear. We all want to keep that commandment, but too often it feels impossible. There are legitimate reasons to fear some of the obstacles and setbacks in our lives. But if it were possible not to fear . . . that would change everything. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Do you tend to take risks or avoid them? How has that tendency influenced the direction of your life? 2. Have you ever known someone who missed out on opportunities because of fear? If so, what did you learn from observing that person? 3. Talk about a time when you were paralyzed by fear. What happened? 4. During the message, Andy said, “Because of Jesus, you don’t have to be afraid, even when there’s something to be afraid of.” Does that statement give you comfort? Why or why not? 5. Read Matthew 14:22–31. Talk about a time when you or someone you know pushed past fear and took a bold step to follow Jesus. How did that event affect your faith? 6. What do you fear right now? What is one practical thing you can do this week to remind yourself not to be afraid because Jesus is with you? What can this group do to support you? MOVING FORWARD What do you fear? Be specific, and then remind yourself to fear not—not because there’s nothing to fear but because Jesus is here. You don’t have to be afraid . . . even when there’s something to be afraid of. CHANGING YOUR MIND
