The Stanley Cup playoffs begin this week, and City of Champions Radio returns to cover every inch of the ice. Co-hosts Matt Gajtka and Larry Snyder welcome friend of the show Ken Will of The Pens Nation to help explore the Pittsburgh Penguins' first-round series against the New York Rangers and the rest of the postseason field. Will this year's Metropolitan Division battle go the same way as last year's, or can the Pens pull off the upset after staggering into the playoffs? Matt, Larry and Ken look at the Pens' strengths and weaknesses and how they match up against the Rangers' key attributes. They finish up by taking a quick peek at each of the other first-round series.

There are plenty of questions to ask as sixteen teams slowly whittle down to eight. Can the Pittsburgh Penguins restore some of their luster against the favorites to win the East in the New York Rangers? Will the Islanders continue the party to close out Nassau Coliseum? What can we make of the most interesting series going between St. Louis and Minnesota? Further, what can we take from the commanding series leads by Montreal and Anaheim, the latter with three brilliant comeback wins against the Winnipeg Jets?

Matt Gajtka and Larry Snyder are back for the latest episode of the Gospel of Hockey, focusing on the unpredictably fun first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. As always, the Pittsburgh Penguins are the prime topic, as they find themselves locked into a battle against the Columbus Blue Jackets through four manic games. Matt and Larry try to figure out where the series goes from here, then they look around the league for items of interest in the other matchups.
A Stanley Cup Playoffs preview podcast with Robert in Virginia and possibly a few other guests. We'll cover the matchups in the first round in the Eastern and Western Conferences including big Stanley Cup favorites like the Bruins, Blues, Ducks, Penguins, and Blackhawks. The Blackhawks, defending Cup champions, haven't been consistent all year but look to give the Blues the scare of their lives in what could be a very even series. The Wild and Avalanache, two upstart teams, face each other in a Wild Card matchup of the Wild West, plus, two familiar foes in the Kings and Sharks play in a rematch of last year's 7 game semifinal thriller. All this plus a look at Detroit's first playoff run as an Eastern Conference team, the new playoffs format, and a swan song playoff for the Ducks' Teemu Selanne. Also tonight in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape joins Dave for "Random Questions" as Spring hits full swing.
It's once again time for some NHL hockey talk on City of Champions Radio, as host Matt Gajtka welcomes sports radio veteran Dan Kingerski to dig into the Stanley Cup playoffs and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dan is a current host on Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan, and he is the self-professed "hockey guy" at the all-sports-talk station. Matt picks Dan's brain on the four teams remaining and the current course of both conference final series. They also try to diagnose the Pens' rough end to the season and formulate ways to get the franchise back on track. Is it as simple as staying healthy? Or is there a deeper issue with the way the roster has been constructed?
