    America's Real Crisis - Part 2

    in Christianity

Modern Evangelicalism has become the enablers of destruction.  As they forsake God’s law, they praise the wicked and actually contend with the righteous.

In this episode of Standing Firm, we will be discussing the real crisis, which is the fear, abdication and apostasy of the American Church.  We will define the present crisis and identify the true Church in order to show what the Church should be doing in this post-Christian culture.

The modern American Church does not have the resolved to stand because it does not have a proper foundation.  As Dr. James White says, “Theology matters!”  There is a reason why they are self-destructing and we will discuss these issues on Standing Firm this Friday at 12 pm Eastern Standard Time.

    Let Us Reason Together

    in Christianity

America is collapsing right before our eyes.  She has never been perfect but there is a night and day difference from what she was to what she has become.  Our fall continues to escalate every day and we are now at the breaking point.

Then, to top it off, last week a psychotic lone gunman entered a historic black church and killed nine people who were peacefully gathered for Bible study.  While the gunman is an obvious psychopath, it has set off a chain of events that continues to push us toward civil unrest.

During a time when we ought to be mourning the tragic and murderous deaths of nine of our countrymen, we are engaged in political discourse hoping to slow down the efforts of those who desire to put the final nail in the coffin.

Although it is argued that we should back off from engaging in the cultural battles that have erupted, we really have no choice but to respond to the offensive attacks against our religious and civil liberties.  We are against the ropes and it appears we are going down for the count.

Yet, it does not have to be this way.  Instead of allowing our enemies to tear us apart, it is time to come together.  If this is ever to happen, it can only begin if we are all willing to confess and turn from our sins with a willingness to engage in open discussion so that we might be unified in the faith and against those who seek to destroy the people of God.

In this episode of Standing Firm, we will begin this conversation within the context of the Reformed church.  It is our hope that others will join us so that we might unite in truth and go forth united in truth to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

    America's Real Crisis

    in Christianity

Modern Evangelicalism has become the enablers of destruction.  As they forsake God’s law they praise the wicked and contend with the righteous.

In this episode of Standing Firm, we will be discussing at least two recent examples of this.  First, is Danny Akin’s praise of Openly Secular, a group that is associated with People for the American Way, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, the ACLU, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Military Religious Freedom Foundation and many other abominable organizations.  Danny Akin is the president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the College at Southeastern.  He is considered a conservative within the Southern Baptist Convention.  Yet, we find him joining with unbelievers, infidels and idolators.

Our second example is the North Alabama United Methodist Church.  As they are closing 9 churches due to the decline in United Methodist Church, they issued four unbiblical resolutions.

The modern American Church does not have the resolved to stand because it does not have a proper foundation.  As Dr. James White says, “Theology matters!”  There is a reason why they are self-destructing and we will discuss these issues on Standing Firm this Friday at 12 pm Eastern Standard Time.

    A Call to Action - Part 2

    in Christianity

We have two options as we look around and see the darkness overwhelming our nation.  We can sit back and wait for destruction or we can rise up and confront the darkness.  If we decide to stand, and having done all to stand, we must contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints.  If we choose this day to serve the Lord our God, we must submit ourselves unto His way, His methods and His agency.  This battle cannot be won if we continue to fight according the commnadments and traditions of men.  To continue this work of the flesh will only aid our enemies in the destruction of the Church, the family and our nation.

In this episode of Standing Firm, we will discuss where to begin in this call for reformation.  Tune in this Friday at 12:00 pm eastern time as we call the saints of God to man their battle stations.

We will also announce a new project from Covenant Commission and Reformed Church of the Holy Trinity.  Coming this October — RP15.  For more information visit www.reformedconference.com

    Jesus and the Law

    in Politics Conservative

Many compromising Evangelicals attempt to advance their antinomian agenda by appealing to Jesus as if all of Scripture are not inspired, infallible, certain and sufficient.  However, their appeal is not to the Jesus of the Scriptures but to the modern Hollywood "Jesus."

What did Jesus teach concerning the law of God?  In this episode of Standing Firm, we will discuss what Jesus actually taught in Matthew 5 on this topic.

The issues we are facing today is revealing light and darkness.  No issue is bringing this to the surface more than the marriage debate.  What one believes about marriage reveals their true view of Scripture.  Do not be deceived by the antinomian apostates.  Jesus did not come to give man a license for perversion.  He came to establish righteousness and confirm this world back to God, not God to this world.

The Debasement of Religious Worship - Part 2

    in Christianity

In this episode of Standing Firm, Pastor James Brown Jr. discusses the Regulative Principle of Worship as we continue our series on The Debasement of Religious Worship.

Today's worship seek's to glorify man instead of the Triune God.  Because of our idolatry the judgment of God is upon the American Church and nation.  If we do not repent and return unto the Lord our nation will continue its ever escalating slide into a reprobate mind.

The Debasement of Religious Worship – Part 1

    in Christianity

Since the Scriptures declare there is one Lord, one faith and one baptism, then why does the modern Evangelical Church look so different than anything ever defined or practiced by the historical Church?  The answer is simple: they call it Emergent but God calls it apostasy.

For the next few weeks Standing Firm will be discussing the topic of worship.  In this series, The Debasement of Religious Worship, we will discuss the doctrinal errors and practices of apostate Evangelicalism and define the doctrine of worship Biblically, theologically and practically.

Don’t be fooled by the worship of the creature masquerading as Christian worship.  There is nothing Christian about it.  For if it was Christian it would be subject to the Word of God.
