A man of many talents he is fondly called “The Renaissance Man.” Akiva was inspired to write his own plays after attending several of Tyler Perry’s stage plays in the 1990s. His love for writing took off in 2008, when he wrote his first play in seven days, “My Christmas Story.” Since those humble beginnings he has gone on to write several more plays. Akiva wrote and produced the highly successful play “Cain and Abel” which is based on true events of Akiva’s life between his brother Lamont Wesley and the loss of their mother, the late Dorothy Jean Clark. His current works include Secret Lovers, Deep Cover, and Blessed. Stage Right is the weekly show that asks the question, "why are there so few conservative voices in drama and theatre?" Join us this week as we look at some putrid examples of playwriting guided by the omniscient presence of television and the left wing world view. We'll also take a look at what some of our friends across the pond have to say about right-wing theatre. Call in to speak with your host, Rocky Benasher or drop him a line at email@example.com. Let's make the conservative voice heard onstage (and off)!
Conservaphobes beware! "Stage Right," the show that asks why there are so few (if any) conservative voices in theatre, is onto you! In this episode we will continue with the aftermath of our discussion of Caryl Churchill's play, "Seven Jewish Children." Do you think the left is not anti-semitic? Wait until you hear the excerpts from "Occupy Wall Street" and from Karl Marx (two favorites of the left). We'll talk how the left's anti-semitism worms its way into their view of Western culture, as expressed on stage. Join us!
Tonight's segment of Center Stage will spotlight "Hot Topics" in our world of news. We will look at updates in the Eric Garner case. Many are seeing striking similarities in the NYPD cases involving Eric Garner and Irving Mizell. Both Garner and Mizell died while in the custody of the NYPD.
Hot topics will also look at the new trend with kids called the "fire challenge," where kids are intentionally setting themselves on fire with accelerants like alcohol and hand santizer. Why are many of our youth entertained with games like the "fire challenge" and the "knock-out game" that involve danger and possible loss of life.
Our panel will also discuss why Saskpower in Canada is removing 105,000 recently installed smart meters. Do we all have reason for concern.
Lastly, we will be looking at disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 and the alleged crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, are the two connected
Join Me as I interview playwright, producer and director Roberto Willams on the struggle to realize his vision of Batman in Fathers of the Dark Knight!!!
Conservaphobes beware! "Stage Right," the show that asks the question "why do we not hear more conservative voices in the theatre" is here to expose you! In this episode we will continue our look at how the Brits take on left-wing theatre (is there any other kinds these days?) with a special emphasis on playwright Caryl Churchil's "Seven Jewish Children." That play is considered anti-Semitic yet, of course, protected by the left. You be the judge. Join us on 10/12 for this exciting (and troubling episode).
