Ebola and St Louis Riots: Lets Talk About It

    in Radio

Tonight on internet radio show Center Stage we will explore why African Americans feel they are being targeted for extinction through ebola and police brutality. In both cases it appears African Americans are being singled out far more than other groups to have their situation turn deadly. There are over 3,400 deaths due to ebola in West Africa and all are Black. In cases of fatal police shootings it does not take much to realize most police encounters that turn deadly are with people of color. The question is why.

This week St Louis Police killed 18 year old Vonderrit Myer Jr., because they say he shot at them first, however, eye witness accounts say he was carrying a sandwich that police mistook for a gun.

Turning Up The Gospel With Christian Rapper Tornado 4:18 and Eddie Daniels

    in Religion

Tornado 4:18 Born in Baltimore MD. The name Tornado 4:18 came from one of the many rambling conversations that he was having one day and he said that he want to be one of the strongest
unstoppable forces in music and in spreading God's word. A tornado he said "is an unstoppable force that clears paths and changes lives."The number 4:18 actually references scripture St. Luke 4:18, which reads as follows: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed." Many of the lyrics written are an effort to reach the young before they go down a path from which recovery may be difficult or so difficult that they do not even try. In addition to reaching those on the path to get them a word of encouragement to change direction and come to God, "I want to spread God's message just the way my mentors spread it to me".

Eddie Daniels, "I am a versatile Gospel artist, singer and songwriter. My style is unique and it speaks truth. May all who hear my music be blessed" Eddie Daniels is a gospel artist, singer and songwriter who was born and raised in New Haven CT. He has been singing since he was a young boy. Eddie started out singing and writing R&B, hip-hop and pop music but transitioned into gospel music. In the process of singing and writing secular music God has changed his life around and has directed him in a different direction. Now Eddie desires nothing more than to serve God and use his gift for Gods glory and for the building of his kingdom. Best male vocalist at the 2014 "Holla back Gospel Awards Show".

  • Teshanne Phillip Gets You Ready to Elevate Your Life

    in Writing

Growing up as a young girl on St. John, in the US Virgin Island Teshanne Phillip fondly recalls the island women who served as her mentors. Now, with the release of her first book, Elevate, Phillip hopes to empower young women in the Virgin Islands — and nationwide — by sharing her own experiences and by teaching them about subjects like forgiveness, achieving greatness, and setting and accomplishing goals.

“I am so excited about this new project, and I am blown away by the feedback that I’ve been receiving on the book,” said Phillip.

The St. John native, who graduated from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in 1999, today lives in South Florida where she leads a mentorship program at a foster home. Her relationship with the young women in the home inspired her to help others achieve greatness.

Phillip’s passion for the girls in the foster home is evident as she speaks about her interactions with them. Ranging in age from 14 to 17, the young women were removed from their homes due to their parents passing away or being incarcerated. Some of the teens have been in the home from a very young age.
