Our guests are potters Jan Richardson and Robert Briscoe, well known in the artist community not only for their fine work but their generosity in developing opportunities for other artists.
Living in rural Maryland Jan developed the Valley Craft Network in 1982, a tour that continues to bring buyers from nearby Baltimore and Washington, DC, into the region to visit studios.
After a move to Washington State about six years ago she found few opportunities for selling her work and since then has worked within that community, creating art shows and the Peninsula Artists Studio Tour.
Robert Briscoe has been exhibiting his functional beautiful pottery at art festivals since 1970. In 1992 together with 7 of his friends they started the St. Croix Valley Pottery Studio Tour, which has become a national pottery phenomenon.
It started as a simple idea: bring together a group of potters to create an event that would be larger in scope than any individual's studio sale. In its' 22nd year it has grown to include 50 potters (43 of them invited from elsewhere).
The studios are within an hours' drive of Minneapolis. Collectors and pottery lovers come from all over N. America to enjoy the celebration and collect this fine handmade work.
The Solemnity of All Saints with Fr. Daniel Kelley. Today we remember and celebrate all those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and have made their robes white in the blood of the Lamb. Our Eucharist is but a foretaste of the heavenly banquet, but it bids us to persevere in the faith of those who have joined the communion of saints. So let us call on all the saints today to help us to grow in our own faith toward the day when we can share with all of them in the banquet at the Lord’s heavenly table. #stjoe88.org #stjosephcatholicchurch #frdanielkelley

As East's reputation grew on the L.A. session scene, so did his job calls. From that point on, East worked consistently. He toured with Loggins appearing with the singer at Live Aid in 1985. Eric Clapton heard Nathan and invited him to join his band. With keyboardist Greg Phillinganes and drummer Phil Collins, they toured the world over and performed multiple concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall which resulted in the release of Clapton's "24 Nights" CD, (1988). With Clapton, he would go on to record numerous CD's including Journeyman, August, Behind The Sun, Pilgrim, Reptile and the Multi-Grammy Award winning multi-platinum Clapton MTV Unplugged CD.In 1990, while in the studio recording Bob James' Grand Piano Canyon album, the keyboardist asked East, Lee Ritenour, and Harvey Mason if they'd be interested in forming a group where each member would be an equal partner and could contribute songs. James, who at the time held an executive position at Warner Bros.' jazz A&R department, got them a deal with the label; a couple of months later, the group now known as Fourplay began recording their debut album. Their first record, 1991′s Fourplay, sold over a million copies and remained at the number one position on Billboard's contemporary jazz charts for 33 weeks. Their next LP, 1993′s Between the Sheets, reached number one, went gold, and received a Grammy nomination. In 1995, their third gold album, Elixir, inherited the number one position from Kenny G's Breathless and remained on the charts for more than 90 weeks. Fourplay's 4 album entered the jazz charts at number one when guitarist Larry Carlton joined the band. Now, after fifteen years together, nine CD's and 5 Grammy nominations, Fourplay's X CD debuted at number one (Billboard Contemporary Jazz) remaining there for more than two months.
Andy's June session described a "Better Way to Work " as a clean desk, an empty in box and with all to-do's in one place. Now let's discuss the role of Blackberry or iPhone. Other topics include writing more effective emails, running more effective meetings and project planning vs. project management.
Andy is a business owner, facilitator, international speaker and workload efficiency expert. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs and contributed to an array of published articles as well as having presented to over 3500 groups. I will be doing my show, live from Albert Whitted Park, 480 Bayshore Drive SE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 I will broadcasting starting at 8am
Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist is expected to announce Monday that he wants his old job back.
“I work for you, the people, always have, always will,” said Charlie Crist in a recent commercial.
Monday morning,at 10am in St. Petersburg Crist is expected to make it official. But unlike before when he was a Republican, this time Crist will run on the Democratic ticket.
The former, next Governor Charlie Crist will declare his intentions Monday morning in downtown Straub Park. That's near where he announced in 2010 that he was leaving the GOP to run for U.S. Senate as an independent.
"When you allowed me to be a governor, I worked to be the people's governor every day. You the people were in charge," Crist says, with a beach in the background. "I'm an optimist, but let's face it, the past few years have been tough: government on the fringes, donors and politics above you, the people. You've seen the attacks — against full-time working people and their health care, against women and their doctors, against teachers, public schools and college affordability. And even against the simple act of casting your vote. It's not working. Only you the people can end this nonsense and get us back to common sense. That's the way forward. Tell me how I can help. Share your comments with me here. I'll read every last one. I work for you, the people. Always have and always will."
