    Low Down and Dirty 3/24/2015

    in Radio

This week on Low Down and Dirty we have a jammed packed show. First up we have Danny Serrano General Manager of the Bridgeport Speedway. Serrano handles the ‘day to day’ tasks at the race track during the week and also works close with the drivers, fans, sponsors, and employee staff on race day. Danny is going to cover all the activities leading up to Saturdays 3rd Annual 60over Special/Doug Hoffman Memorial event which will serve as the first hand in the 2015 Poker Series.

Next we will have Ryan Smith “The Kunkletown Kid”.  Ryan has recently released the news that he will spend the first month with the All Stars before making a determination about how long he can stay on the road full time. He also has planned to fill in his schedule of approximately 60-to-65 races with local events in Pennsylvania as well as select World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races on the East Coast. Ryan will get us up to date on this aggressive schedule.

This week we kick the sprint car wars into high gear locally and we got one of the young lions in the area. Brent Marks from Myerstown PA already has a Top-Five finish at the Lincoln 'Icebreaker' and has big plans for the upcoming season. The 19M race team plans on being at Williams Grove this Friday night but you may be surprised what happens after that. Brent will be with us to fill in the blanks.

THE ROAD HAWGS RADIO NETWORK - CLASSIC CHROME CANNONBALL HANDBUILT SHOW

    in Lifestyle

CLASSIC CHROME -  CANNONBALL HANDBUILT SHOW

Special Guests: Lonnie Isam Jr, Event Promoter: Motorcycle Cannonbal  Jason Sims, Event Staff: Motorcycle Cannonball Alan Stulberg, Revival Cycles

In the early 1900's one man was the name in transcontinental record-setting motorcycle and automobile runs. This man crossed the wild American landscape numerous times in feats of stamina, skill, and devotion unlike any other. Imagine riding coast-to-coast aboard a 1915 Indian, or 1923 Ner-A-Car in just mere days, when there were no real paved roads. More than 100 transcontinental speed records for both autos and cars are attributed to Erwin "Cannonball" Baker.

Since 2010, a world-class racing event has taken the motorcycle world by storm. This event is the ultimate challenge of man and machine, and is a tribute to "Cannonball" Baker's record-setting cross-country trips. The Motorcycle Cannonball is the brainchild of Lonnie Isam, Jr, and has been undertaken by a field of enthusiasts three separate times now. In 2010, motorcycles manufactured prior to 1916 crossed America from Kitty Hawk, NC to Santa Monica, CA. 2012 saw the second running of the event from Newburgh, NY to San Francisco, CA for machines built prior to 1930. Last September, pioneering enthusiasts from all over the world conquered America once again, traveling from Daytona Beach, FL to Tacoma, WA aboard machines built prior to 1937.

An outrageous, entertaining and true story of an aspiring young actress’ ill-fated friendship and unwitting alliance with a drug smuggling “heiress.”Aspiring actress Meili Cady left small-town Washington State for the glamorous lure of Los Angeles. Then she met Lisette Lee. Calling herself the “Korean Paris Hilton,” Lisette claimed she was a model and a Korean pop star, lived in a $1.2 million dollar apartment in West Hollywood, owned a fleet of luxury cars, and flitted from one red-carpet event to the next. Soon, the financially strapped Meili became her friend’s personal assistant—and found herself sucked into an audacious criminal enterprise. But when Meili finally realized what she was a part of it was too late—she was in too deep.Trapped in a precarious criminal world of money, drugs, and dangerous secrets, Smoke is her story—an electrifying tale of vice, corruption, hubris, and lost innocence as shocking and entertaining as The Wolf of Wall Street and Bringing Down the House.

Meili Cady starred as the lead actress in the Showtime comedy film Chick Magnet, and has appeared on Californication and other television shows. After a brief stint in a federal prison camp, Meili began the blog House Arrest Girl while she served a year of home confinement. She lives in Los Angeles, California.

Talking in Circles: Martinsville Review; BIG TIRE PENALTY

    in Sports

On today's episode we talk about a sad anniversary in NASCAR.

After that we'll review the STP 500 @ Martinsville Speedway. Denny Hamlin  gives Toyota their first win since Talladega last season. We need more short tracks. What a fun race. We'll give our attaboy/girls  and our disappointments.

Also, the big story of the week is the P5 penalty for the #31 team for Richard Childress Racing. Crew chief, Luke Lambert has been suspended for six races, and placed on probation through December 31st. Interesting take that Clayton has on this as to what RCR's next move should be; also, is it time to change the way NASCAR penalizes teams in this sport?

And our team report cards. Usually, every break in the season, we give team report cards, and today we'll give ours after the first six weeks.

Qualifying at Talladega has changed, of course, only the 457th change in qualifying. Is this the best way? Is there a better way?

Also, John Harlow from BeyondtheFlag.com will join the show to discuss multiple topics with us; and that's always a treat.
