Karate Christian or Zen Buddhism
Mixing the Gospel with Eastern Religion
Ministers around the world have invited these karate teams to hold crusades in their churches, knowing that they will draw a capacity crowd that can then be told the good news of Jesus Christ. While I do not doubt the good intentions and sincerity of these men, sincerity is not the issue here. Truth is. And the former is never a substitute for the latter. So while the motivation behind such performances may be earnest, in viewing them, the Bible believer is eventually forced to question whether such displays are biblical. We know they are popular, but are they compatible with Christianity? More to the point, is a martial arts demonstration a scriptural platform from which to preach Christ?
LIVE SPORT CHAT:Teen Athletes & the Abuse of Over-the-Counter Drugs
From baseball stars to Olympians, media coverage of elite athletes increasingly includes reports of the use of performance-enhancing drugs to gain an edge over competitors. These substances are usually taken to boost athletic performance, increase muscle mass and strength, and diminish fatigue. Teen athletes in high school and even middle school are taking these drugs, too. There are many reasons for this, such as frustration over being at a plateau in training or curiosity about the drugs' effects. Some young athletes also may use performance-enhancing drugs if they think that others (especially competitors) are using them - and if they believe that coaches and parents will look the other way regarding the use of such products.
Creatine - Creatine is a compound that helps muscles use energy and recover more quickly following exercise. Steroid precursors - Steroid precursors are substances that the body converts into anabolic steroids,Ephedra - Ephedra, also called ma huang, is a plant that contains two amphetamine-like stimulants: ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. The concern about ephedra products was so great that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned ephedra from being sold in dietary supplements in 2004. The scope of the FDA rule, though, does not pertain to traditional Chinese herbal remedies, so ma huang tea or other herbal products that contain ephedra can still be purchased. Some cold products also contain ephedrine or pseudoephedrine.
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood.

The speculation has now been confirmed. Miguel Cotto has announced that he and his fighters have partnered with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports. The deal was announced by the middleweight world champion himself on ESPN.com this morning.
“We have an announcement to make today. We have an alliance with… Miguel Cotto Promotions, Miguel Cotto boxers with Roc Nation and we are more than happy to announce that.”
ESPN reports that Cotto signed this multi-fight/multi-year deal earlier this week.
Miguel Cotto is the second major star in the sport to sign with Roc Nation Sports. Super middleweight Andre Ward signed with Jay-Z’s company back in January which added much-needed legitimacy to the Roc Nation brand as a boxing promoter.
