Seth Farber, PhD Author of: The Spiritual Gift of Madness: The Failure of Psychiatry and the Rise of the Mad Pride Movement (Innedr Traditions, 2012) Foreword by Kate Millett
“Farber critically considers the role of madness in culture and sees it as a positive force for change rather than a disease needing treatment. At the same time he does not play down the difficulties encountered by those experiencing such ‘initiations,’ but believes we need to cherish them and appreciate their visionary role in a world gone insane.” (Robert Black, New Dawn, January 2013)
Dr. Seth Farber is a writer, social critic, dissident psychologist (he received his doctorate in 1984),visionary, activist (in the human rights, Green and anti-war movements -- and a supporter of animal rights) and co-founder of the Network Against Coercive Psychiatry (1988). His newest and most important book was just released in May,The Spiritual Gift of Madness:The Failure of Psychiatry and the Rise of the Mad Pride Movement. (The Foreword is written by internationally renowned writer, feminist and human rights advocate Kate Millett, author of Sexual Politics and The Loony Bin Trip.)
Dr Farber has had four books published previously, including a book on Jewish critics of Israel, and numerous essays and articles. A critic of the mental health system, he has been a guest on many television and radio shows. His first book Madness, Heresy and the Rumor of Angels: The Revolt Against the Mental Health System (Open Court, Chicago, 1993) contained a foreword by Thomas Szasz. The publication of his memoir Lunching with Lunatics: Adventures of a Renegade Psychologist has been postponed until the time is propitious.(See excerpts below right.) Dr Farber is also an editor of the pioneering scholarly review The Journal of Mind and Behavior. He can be reached at seth17279@?aol.com
Luke is a young artist / songwriter from the UK who’s starting to make a buzz with his songs. He cites “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls as the song that, the moment he heard it playing, made him realize he wanted to be a songwriter.Shortly after, at the age of 17, Luke picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time and started writing songs not only about love but also about growing up. Other artists that have influenced Luke include the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Jason Mraz, Fountains of Wayne, Goo Goo Dolls and the music of his father who played in bands way back when! In a short time he’s become a natural songwriter and emerging artist in the making. Music Week selected Luke as one of their ten ‘favorite’ new talents of 2011 and commented saying “Luke’s songs are beautiful.” Promo Only agrees saying it’s “exciting hearing such a fresh new and exciting talent like Luke, it’s perfect for US radio”.Luke’s debut radio single, “We’re Alive” impacted several stations on the East Coast in the summer of 2012, having top 30 airplay in Boston and San Francisco with video rotation at Hard Rock Cafes (“Great video”) around the world.January 2013 saw the release of Luke’s EP, ‘One Day’ which met with a great critical reaction. Luke has recorded an album of his songs with Bleu (Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers…) and is just waiting patiently for the right time to release them to everyone. In September 2013 he signed a management contract with WEG (Wright Entertainment Group) and Orrigami. Since then he’s been even busier with writing trips to Sweden, Canada and USA during 2014 where he’s worked with some amazing collaborators. He also did a short UK school tour and a small tour in the USA in July / August 2014.With a great catalogue of songs ready to go Luke will be putting out new music and videos soon!

"I'm from New Zealand and am taking a year (or more) off work. I'm currently living at Dharmaloca as caretaker for the next 3 months- then who knows! I met Jaya in India in 2006 at Budhgaya and have since sat a number of Open Dharma retreats. I love the inclusivity and grounded spaciousness of Open Dharma teachings.
This talk is not what i originally planned! In it I speak about the ordinary- the delicious and often extraordinary ordinariness of being an embodied humanoid, living our Dharma. At least I think that's what I speak about". (18 min)

Join Holly Stephey as she talks to Ed Kleinman who in his words "This is my journey from listening to the bands of the mid 1950's to working with bands in the 60's and 70's. It is filled with stories regarding musicians in a time where the music industry was changing as quickly as the social and political climate."
One tells a story of days gone by. A flash of your history, a snapshot of an instant.
Be it a minute, an hour, a day, or a year, it matters none.
Something jogs your brain cells where past history is stored.
You smile, and you think you have something worth telling.
*Ed Kleinman’s story chronicles his 18 years in the music industry from 1966 to 1984. He started as a part-time roadie making just enough money to buy cigarettes and put gas into his car. Eventually, he was able to hang out with musicians and tell lovely young ladies, “I’m with a band. You wanna meet one of ‘em?”
It tells how he was able to form his own entertainment company until he left the business world of rock and roll.
Those years brought a great deal of change to the music world and to all corners of society. The youth fought for equality for all, protested the Vietnam War and marched against it. The music got stronger, more political and more active in supporting change.
The 18 years he had in the music industry helped him further his career and enrich his sales force development role.
Join him as he reminisces and relives his rock and roll journey.
Peter Gabriel is one of rock music’s most active innovators. Between his Grammy- award-winning albums, social activism-based concerts, world music festivals, and his claim-to-fame band Genesis’s 2010 induction into the rock n’ roll hall of fame, Gabriel’s creative longevity is unquestionable. Author Daryl Easlea’s new biography, Without Frontiers: The Life and Music of Peter Gabriel illuminates this musical pioneer’s life and what inspires him. Daryl Easlea delves into the multi-talented Gabriel’s childhood, where he writes of young Gabriel’s influences, including his father who fostered his musical interest in everything from The Beatles to soul music. Gabriel began his musical career in the early 1970’s as the front man for Genesis, a band he created with fellow schoolmates. By 1975, citing the stress of being in the band and that Gabriel was newly married and with a baby, he set out on a solo career. Naming his first three albums after himself, he achieved moderate success with the singles “Solsbury Hill” and “Shock the Monkey.” It wasn’t until Gabriel’s 1986 album, So, with the hits “Sledgehammer,” “Big Time,” and “In Your Eyes,” that he achieved commercial success. It was followed up five years later by the equally successful album US, hits “Digging in the Dirt” and “Come Talk to Me” and as the author notes, is clearly the result of the singer’s personal struggles and years in therapy. Throughout Without Frontiers, Easlea weaves a beautiful biographical tapestry of Gabriel’s life. Quotes and interviews with friends and fellow musicians who were instrumental in Peter’s life help to chronicle the man and his immensely creative approach to his music.
The Meet Your Boaz Experience: Not Your Typical Matchmaking Service... Hmmm... Tell me more.
Today, we will discuss 3 fundamentals behind my new creation and the "Experiences" it was designed to deliver. Love can be a fascinating and fun experience; when you learn how to let go of judgment discover who you truly are.
Or it can be a disaster for anyone who is still trying to please other people's need for them to live within rigid guidelines for love and romance.
Love can only flourish when you approach it with an open mind and curiosity to learn. This is where the Meet Your Boaz Experience begins.
