Spike TV has opted not to renew TNA's contract, which expires in October. Gavin and Mark will discuss this in detail and then take your calls!
TNA President Dixie Carter came forward on Twitter today to state that negotiations with Spike TV are still “ongoing”, implying that just because a deal hasn’t been struck, does not mean there won’t be one made in the coming weeks. This comes after our report yesterday that Spike TV did not want to renew their deal with the wrestling organization, leaving Impact Wrestling potentially homeless if a deal could not be reached with a new network soon. While this is technically true, and TNA would obviously love to remain with their network, it’s still being said – and confirmed by dozens of sources at this point – that Spike has very little interest in pursuing their relationship further.

Joe Warren is a professional mixe martial artist (MMA) fighter who is the current bantamweight and former featherweight champion for Bellator MMA, which airs on Spike TV. A world champion amateur wrestler, Warren made the transition to MMA in 2009 by competing for Japanese promotion Dream in their Featherweight Grand Prix Tournamnet. He was then signed by Bellator and after winning the Season 2 featherweight tournament defeated then champion Joe Soto to capture his first world title. After losing the 145-lbs title to Pat Curran he made the permanent move to 135-lbs and after winning the Season 9 bantamweight tournament captured the interim-title and later the unifed championship. His first title defense takes place at Bellator 135 on March 27 in a rematch against Brazilian fighter Marcos Galvão. The two previously fought at Bellator 41 which saw Warren win by unanimous decision.
Al Haymon in recent months has purchased a lot of air time on normal cable stations. Last week he had the premiere of Premiere Boxing Champions with Keith Thurman and Adrien Broner defeating Robert Guerrero and John Molina Jr respectively. This week will be the debut of boxing on Spike TV, live from Ontario, California. There will be a pair of welterweight fights as Andre Berto squares off against Josesito Lopez, and Shawn Porter will step into the ring against Roberto Garcia, both fights being 12 round, non-title bouts. Andre Berto (29-3 with 22 KOs) is trying to avoid losing his 4th fight in his last 6 bouts. He was on the fast track to stardom, making millions per fight at a young age, and had a record of 27-0. Then after having the best fight of 2011 against Victor Ortiz, everything seemed to crumble for the proud Haitian. Berto did bounce back against Jan Zaveck his next bout, but then lost in upsets to both Robert Guerrero and Jesus Soto Karass. After injuring his shoulder against Soto Karass, Berto didn’t step back into the ring for 14 months, which was last September. He had an easy fight and now is stepping the level of competition up in hopes of proving that his career isn’t over. On March 14 Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (26-0-1, 23 KOs) will compete in his first title defense as Unified WBO, WBA and IBF Light Heavyweight World Champion against former lineal light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Kovalev completed the first half of his preparations in Big Bear Lake, CA then moved to Miami, FL where he is finishing training camp with his trainer, John David Jackson.
As the WWE continues their "Road to Wrestlemania" it falls to their, Creative team to come up with ways to make the upcoming show(s) more attractive to the casual wrestling fan. On this week's episode of, Monday Night RAW a Q & A session was held between John Cena and the current WWE Champion, The Rock. The Q & A session included a panel of WWE Legends(Mick Foley, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T and Bret “Hit Man” Hart). Ric Flair was to be included in the panel, but was asked to leave the arena due to a health scare. A blood clot was to blame, apparently the same condition that affected Ric Flair during a recent trip to Japan.
TNA's main television partner, Spike TV, might be considering an overhaul. The network known for television programming mainly geared toward the male demographic, might be changing over to a more "general entertainment" approach. The cause for this, declining ratings and ad revenue in 2012. There is even rumors of a brand/name change for Spike TV. If this happens, where does TNA sit? Will TNA's Impact Wrestling have to find a new television home as they begin their road tour?

In the much-anticipated main event of the evening, Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (27-0-1, 24 KOs)* and Jean Pascal (29-3-1, 17 KOs) pleased fans with an action-packed battle. Both fighters started by trading some good shots, but Kovalev started to throw some nasty combinations in the third round to take the wind out of the hostile crowd at the Centre Bell in Montreal. Just before the end of the third round, Kovalev knocked Pascal through the ropes but Pascal was saved by the bell.
There were so many storylines at play in Shawn Porter’s televised co-feature on Spike’s debut of Al Haymon’s “PBC” series. First, his opponent Erick Bone was as late a replacement as it gets, fighting in place for the overweight Roberto Garcia. Bone was scheduled to replace Garcia shortly after the news broke that Garcia would not try to lose the remaining pounds, reports that he was dealing with some sort of illness surfaced soon after. Then, reports about Karim Mayfield taking the late replacement duties surfaced and he was even present at the weigh-in, but the powers that be ultimately decided to go with Bone.
Andre Berto was able to stop Josesito Lopez in the 6th round of their “PBC” on Spike TV main event, live from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
Berto stayed in a puncher’s stance early in the 1st round, but Lopez never took the bait. As both fighters circled each other to no prevail and certainly no effect, Lopez tried attacking the body in the closing moments.
Lopez was failing to set his punches up, and even when he tried it seemed not to work, so he only managed to land one shot at a time with any damage. Berto seemed tight and focused. It was as though Berto had some more motivation behind his performance, but it only made him vulnerable.
