I was watching a delightful and interesting video of the building of Disneyland sent by a friend when I got a phone call late last night from Kristinn Taylor alerting me to a story he just broke over at The Gateway Pundit
( http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/…/breaking-islamic-state-p…/ )
that was linked as the TOP headline at the Drudge Report.
It was news of the shooting in Garland TX of two self-proclaimed ISIS nut jobs who were protesting a FREE SPEECH event -- Draw Muhammed cartoon contest -- organized by a mutual friend Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer of JihadWatch.org
I've met Geller -- and Spencer -- several times and have had them on my radio program numerous times over the past few years. Somehow we bloggers/writers/researchers/reporters in the new social media are all connected... it's amazing to realize the network we've created over the past fifteen years.
Anyway, my point is, I never did get back to the Disney vid. I spent the next few hours helping Kristinn grab screen shots of tweets sent out from these ISIS loons to illustrate his reports.
Never a dull moment... never. Especially not on tonight's show.
Free speech under attack in America! Yesterday, May 3, 2015 Garland, Texas, was Mohammed Cartoon Contest, organized by Pamela Geller of AFDI. In attendance were other dignitaries; Tom Trento, Robert Spencer & Geert Wilders to name a few. As the event drew to a close, two gunmen opened fire outside the venue where the event was being held. A security officer at the scene was hit by gunfire & suffered non-life threatening injuries. Garland Police and SWAT responded immediately and effectively killing the two gunman (terrorists). So far the two terrorists have not yet been identified. The shooting began shortly after 7pm outside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. No one inside the buidling was injured.
Our own Radio Jihad Al was on the scene as events unfolded. Police quickly took action to secure the building and lock down the facility. Attendees on the inside were allowed to leave. Police did a terrific job, according to Al. The attendees were then wisked away to an undisclosed location, as police and FBI conducted their investigation. Pamela Geller & Geert Wilders were safe during the exchange outside the venue with police.
Free Speech is under attack in America. Islams intolerance for the First Amendment of the U.S. Constituion is very clear. All the Monday morning quarterbacks are emerging - why have the event? why draw Mohammed? why? Because this is America! We should not fear and will not be detered by intolerance! So much for islamic assimilation!

In his three and a half decades as a recording artist, Willie Nile has earned a reputation as both a fiercely committed rock ’n’ roller and a singularly insightful songwriter. It’s Nile’s introspective side that fuels If I Was A River, a deeply compelling ten-song collection that diverges from his usual sound, while affirming the remarkable melodic and lyrical skills that have long endeared the artist to his passionately loyal fan base.Working with Grammy-winning producer Stewart Lerman (Boardwalk Empire, Antony and the Johnsons, Loudon Wainwright III, Dar Williams) Nile recorded the material in an appropriately spare environment that helped to capture the songs’ intimacy and immediacy. He also employed the same Steinway Grand piano that he'd played 34 years earlier on the evening of the death of John Lennon, while both Lennon and Nile were recording at Manhattan’s Record Plant. When Nile was working on If I Was A River, the legendary piano was residing at Hobo Sound in Weehawken, NJ, where he recorded the new album with a minimum of embellishment or trickery. If I Was A River also features some contributions from guitar master Steuart Smith (of Eagles/Rosanne Cash/Rodney Crowell fame) and multi-instrumental stringmaster David Mansfield (whose voluminous credits range from Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash to Yo La Tengo), along with backing vocals from singer-songwriter and frequent Nile co-writer Frankie Lee.It’s hard to think of many other artists who are doing some of their best work in the fourth decade of their careers, but Willie Nile continues to seek out new creative challenges and conquer new musical territory.“Doing this album was liberating in many ways,” he states. “I learned that it’s fun to change horses and take different roads from time to time as one travels through life, and I think I'll carry that lesson with me in the records that I make in the future.?
Joan Kramer and David Heeley drop by to discuss In the Company of Legends, their behind-the-scenes book about the marvelous movie star documentaries they've worked on together. Starting with their award-winning profiles of Fred Astaire in 1980, Kramer and Heeley produced film portraits of the lives and careers of many Hollywood legends including Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Judy Garland and Humphrey Bogart, This dynamic duo established a reputation for finding the un-findable, persuading the reluctant, and maintaining unique relationships long after the end credits rolled. This interview is a must-hear for true movie addicts everywhere!
Robert Osborne, host of Turner Classic Movies, calls In the Company of Legends one of the best reasons ever for curling up with a book, and talk show host Dick Cavett says the Kramer/Heeley memoir was so hard to put down that he ate with one hand while reading it. Osborne goes on to praise the book because it’s about dazzling personalities told by people who actually knew the celebrities they write about, worked with them and, further, socialized with them, aware of their foibles and strengths from first-hand knowledge, not hearsay.
Among the Kramer and Heeley documentaries are: Katharine Hepburn: All About Me; Bacall on Bogart; The John Garfield Story; The Adventures of Errol Flynn; The Spencer Tracey Legacy; James Stewart: A Wonderful Life; Fonda on Fonda; Fred Astaire: Puttin’ on His Top Hat; Fred Astaire: Change Partners and Dance.

Please join me tonight as I air an interview I conducted with Chris Spencer. Chris is a new face in the Bigfoot community, but he has been doing some interesting work. In addition to multiple experiences, Chris was a student of the late Professor Grover Krantz at Washington State University. Chris has had multiple experiences, but he also sat through a lecure that Profressor Krantz conducted on the Patterson-Gimlin film. The professor had some really unique insights into the film, and Chris will share them with us. Please tune in for a great show!
We have all heard the quote "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." This quote for me is a reference to responsibility, action but also an unwillingness to remain ignorant. Ignorant in the sense of being without knowledge. At a time when we have so much access to knowledge, one must be actively pursuing ignorance in order to remain in unawareness. On today's show we will be discussing how to stay in awareness and how to assist others who are waking up from their slumber or ignorance.
