There are several references outside of the written Law (Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy) which include additions or clarifications to that which was already established. These all do, however, refer back specifically to the written Law.
A King Over Israel (1 Samuel 8:6-22) By rejecting God as their sovereign leader, the Israelites would be required to pay additional costs; monetary, their sons and daughters, animals, servants and land would all be required by their king. They would serve the king, instead of God. And they would cry out to God to deliver them from their leader, and God would not hear them.
Hezekiah and the Restoration (2 Chronicles 30:23-31:21) The people were encouraged to keep the feast going; the King made a large donation (of goods he had received as taxes from the people, as previously warned by God), and the priests and Levites made an even larger donation. The people rejoiced, partied, then broke down the idols (they had been worshiping), then went home. The priestly duties, which had ceased, were restored.
The Law of Moses is summarized in verses 20-21. Because Hezekiah did what was right, God prospered him. This was the best they could hope for; a surface relationship with a God who provided for their physical needs, peace, etc. as long as they did what He told them to do. The Israelites had to fulfill their part BEFORE God would fulfill His part, But God never intended that the Law define His relationship with His people; its purpose was to reveal that there was nothing we could do to BRING OURSELVES into relationship with Him. It was something ONLY HE, AND HE ALONE, COULD DO. With the Resurrection, Jesus concluded both parts of the covenant: He did our part and the Father's, once and for all, permanently.

Another week, another minority unfortunately dies at the hands of our nations finest. Yes our boys in blue don't seem to be slowing their roll of murder and mayhem. The story is similar to others, yet the details and laws that aided in the mishandling are slightly different.
Young Freddie Gray wasn't shot in the back. Details about how roughed up he was at the time of arrest differ, but one detail of this case made the public cringe, if for nothing more than the fact that the police couldn't reveal, by statute, what had happened to this young man after being loaded into the paddy wagon, not to mention his original sin was making eye contact and possibly heading the other direction.
After the police gave light chase, the apprehended him, restrained him with handcuffs, and caused enough pain that he was screaming in agony while being loaded into the wagon. They drove to the police precinct, and in that spat of time, Freddie's neck was 80% separated from his spine. They finally got him medical attention, where he slipped into a coma and passed away within a week.
Police offered no explanation, and why should they, Maryland has a law enforcement bill of rights that grants cops 10 to get their stories straight. As is now routine, angry protests followed, at first peaceful, but as Baltimore is a powder keg of inequality and racial tension, it soon escalated into riots the likes of which haven't happened since the great riots of the 60s when MLK was assassinated.
Is it finally time to address the underlying issues plaguing our society? What are they, and how to we appease the communities that are currently being disenfranchised by the symptoms of this divisive issue. The police are low hanging fruit in this grand problem. What is the root of it?

The events that have unfolded in Baltimore helps us to look at our behaviors, mentalities, levels of accountability, double standards, strengths and weaknesses as a whole society and individual race.
We'll be discussing Marilyn Mosby, her husband, Nick Mosby, professional protestors, Toya Graham, the youth presence vs the adult presence and what this possibly implies...
We question where our impact as adults have fallen onto the teenagers. Have we given them more secular hip hop culture & mentality or have we passed down wisdom for tomorrow? Have we shown them how to impact their neighborhood wisely? Or how to be the next narcissist who will step on whoever to get their point across and how to look "like a boss". How important a role has the lack of education and infrastructure played in urban areas? What are some positive events/protests that have unfolded in Baltimore and what do you believe led up to the commotion? IS Toya Graham (the mother who slapped her son), a symbol of the desperation within the black community? She has multiple children supposedly by different dads and is doing her best. But is the best from the single mother still losing?

And, I have something to say to the people about their current judges and lawyers … and I’ll put it in religious tones … Why? … well … just because:
“And now behold, I say unto you, that the foundation of the destruction of this people is beginning to be laid by the unrighteousness of your lawyers and your judges.”
Ain’t that the real truth!" ......Christopher
