    Paradoxides - Species Profile

    in Environment

Paradoxides - Species Profile will be the topic of discussion on Natures Talk Shows Fine Art of Paleontology. Paradoxides is a large trilobite close to half a meter (one and a half feet) long. There are many species and subspecies of this genus and they have been collected from the Czech Republic, Scandinavia, Wales, Spain, Morocco, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Maine and Massachusetts. Geologists use these species to correlate rock formations from these different areas. This strange geographic distribution and the remarkable similarities of some trilobites from North America and Europe puzzled paleontologists.During the Cambrian Period, 510 million years ago, before there were any lobsters these trilobites crawled along the seafloor, but not off the coast of North America or Europe. They lived in the shallow waters off the coast of a small continent that no longer exists called Avalonia by geologists.

    Stegasaurus - Species Profile

    in Environment

Stegasaurus - Species Profile will be the topic of discussion on Natures Talk Shows Fine Art of Psleontology. Stegosaurus is a genus of armored bony dinosaur. They lived during the Late Jurassic period, some 155 to 150 million years ago in what is now western North America. It was about the size of a bus and carried around two rows of bony plates along its back that made it appear even bigger.Stegosaurus has a reputation for having a small brain and one of the lowest-brain-to-body ratios among dinosaurs. "The brain of Stegosauruswas long thought to be the size of a walnut," said armored dinosaur expert Kenneth Carpenter, director of the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum in Utah.

    in Environment

Protoceratops - Species Profile is the topic of discussion presented by Natures Talk Shows Fine Art of Paleontology, hosted by Ken McKeighen and Ken Boorman.Protoceratops is a genus of sheep-sized herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur, from the Upper Cretaceous Period of what is now Mongolia.
