Ethnic and Religious Conflicts in South Sudan, the CAR, the DRC and Nigeria

    in Education

You are invited to the ICERM Radio Panel Discussion Broadcast.

Theme: Ethno-Religious Conflicts in South Sudan, the CAR, the DRC and Nigeria: Encouraging Aspects within the Chaos

Date: Thursday, January 16 2014 at 7:30 pm in EST, New York.

Every community, whether village or nation, is an expression of the consciousness of that community in that place and time. This consciousness affects the communities’ identity, perspectives, and so their interaction with each other and the outside world.

This week, we are honored to have an exceptional panel of experts whose knowledge and expertise can help bring a deeper understanding of the individual and collective consciousness at work breeding & feeding conflict in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and Nigeria.

Within the chaos, even in the direst situations, there are adaptive strategies at play. There is an emergent thinking that is working; there are individuals and budding paradigms that hold promise.

In the next hour, we hope to gain new insights into that which offers us hope & inspires optimism for Africa.

Overarching questions: Where do these healthy strategies emerge from? What can we do to foster these ideas? Support these individuals? Nurture these adaptive paradigms?

    Experts / Panelists

    Dr. Mwangi S. Kimenyi

    Modem Lawson-Betum

    Prof. John Mukum Mbaku

    Ambassador Shola J. Omoregie

    Agiri Chris JN Esq

    Prof. René Lemarchand

I am 54. Two kids in their 30 daughter in UK, son in New Zealand.  I'm self-employed.  3 grandkids 2 in UK 1 in New Zealand.   shot twice in house robberies.  Till this day police have never taken a statement.  I served 2 years in the army from 76.   Refused to serve when I saw our government, who we fought for, was giving our country away. Belonged to Awb for many years thinking they had our people’s future at heart.  I was wrong. After 1994 gave up my job of 23 years, got divorced, have been self-employed, run many businesses.   Battled went through hard times but rose up after each failure and believe it made me stronger.  In all this time I have watched the whites lose their dignity, get pushed into squatter camps.

I have now joined Leigh with South African Family Relief Project to help assist the less fortunate whites.

I want the world to know what is happening to our white brothers and sisters

I am a South African born white male and was born in the middle sixties. My family has been in South Africa since the middle 17th century. My forefathers from my dad’s side came to South Africa from Germany and later married a girl from the Netherlands over here. My history goes back to a Germany back to the 12th century in a town called Griebenow in North East Germany. I grew up in a mostly Afrikaans environment and I have 3 brothers and 1 sister.

I have my own small one man business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of kitchen & bathroom cabinetry. I am a keen photographer, philosopher, human rights activist and I play Squash (similar to Racket ball in the USA) at least three times a week. I played rugby, participated in Amateur wrestling and Mixed martial arts. Nowadays I stick to self protection art like Krav Maga and keep fit by doing a lot of jogging, swimming and spending time outdoors. Now, that is when I am not online trying to save the world…..

I have studied Sales Marketing  management and I am also studying part time towards obtaining my International accreditation as an Installation Electrician at a local technical college. I finished High school at the age of 18 and I had to do National service in the South African Military Services (SADF) as a White male after High school as it was the law in South Africa at the time (Conscription compulsory military service). I opted to sign up for permanent service in the South African Navy for almost 5 years.

South Africa was involved in the Angolan Bush War during that time and we took part in many operations in and outside our borders. I left the Navy and went on to work and study part time in the Sales and Marketing field for several years. I later became involved in the Insurance industry and became involved with insurance brokering and later worked as Sales and Marketing Director in a privately owned company.

WHEN DO WE SAY NO !!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!

“Tesh Ndlovu of Midrand: 27 October 2014: "My duty is to eliminate every white person in South Africa" facebook page: "If you look very well in my profile you'll see that I'm wearing a necklace.. you see this necklace. This was made from the bones of a small white child of six years old. I killed him myself and his sister in front of his parents. We can make beautiful art and traditional crafts using the bones an d remains of white people... If you want to eat a white person, I won't stop you. Or if you just want to have some fun torturing a white person before you killt hem, that is entirely your prerogative... whites doesn't have their own country. They are all over Africa... they've nowhere to run...”

    who can you trust?

“South African Police sergeant Hendrik 'Muthi" Mthimunye: "Never Trust the White Man, the only Time you Trust Him is when he is Dead'

5 November 2014: Twelve white colleagues have lodged a formal complaint against sergeant Mthimunye, saying these words are 'unsuitable language to be used a a police member."

Dr. Stanton noted that recent studies of the correlation between corruption and atrocities committed by governments show that the relationship is direct.  Once in power, corrupt governments cling to power because of the enormous wealth their officials amass.  They then persecute, torture, and murder anyone who challenges their grip on power.  That downward spiral has begun in South Africa, just as it did in Zimbabwe.  In Zimbabwe it resulted in the Gukurahunde genocide against Joshua Nkomo’s Matabele people and Mugabe’s repression of the MDC.
