It is an honour for me to introduce the just married, Caroline Whittle! I'm very grateful to you Caroline for agreeing to appear on my show so soon after your wedding.
Caroline struggled for a number of years with depression, mainly because of the difficulties she experienced with her weight. Her depression eventually led to self-harm and she found herself in a black hole from which there seemed no escape.
In 2006, when she was 23, her mother passed away after a short battle with cancer. This very harrowing experience turned out to be the spur that started Caroline’s transformation to where she is today.
“I was present at her death and that moment is responsible for the work I am doing today. In the weeks and months following her death, in pain and wracked with the most intense grief, I knew that if there was any beauty to be taken from her passing, it was that I must follow my heart and work towards being with those who are suffering or have suffered the pain of loss.”
“I trained as a Soul Midwife in 2011 which is a non-medical companion to the dying. I then trained as a Funeral Celebrant in 2012. After performing this work in my hometown of Shrewsbury I moved to London to train and work as a Funeral Director. I have returned to my celebrancy but also now offer talks, educating adults and parents on how to talk to children about death and dying.”
I have had the pleasure of meeting Caroline and found her to be a very spiritual and sincere lady; hence I am now looking forward to hearing about her journey, straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak!

Solveig and Stevie bring an easy pop/folk feel to an eclectic sound that conjures the power pop of the 80s with its female lead vocals, pleasing harmonies and melodic bass lines.
Solveig Whittle is the lead vocalist, lyricist, and business side of the duo Solveig & Stevie, whose other member is studio musician and producer, Stevie Adamek. Stevie was originally signed by Scepter Records (with the See Band) and then Columbia Records (Bighorn). He also composed for and performed with the iconic Seattle band, The Allies, one of the first to have a music video on MTV (Emma Peel). Solveig and Stevie teamed up and started writing together in 2010.
Writer and editor Amy Lyles Wilson believes it is the sharing of our stories that saves us. Toward that end, she facilitates workshops and retreats designed to encourage people to write their hearts out. Her main themes of interest are creativity, grief, and spirituality.
Wilson, a native of Mississippi now living in Nashville, Tennessee, has twenty-five years of experience in the publishing world, having worked for such industry innovators as Whittle Communications and Rutledge Hill Press. She has been a magazine columnist and blogger, and has co-authored or contributed to nine books. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, and she holds degrees in English, journalism, and theology. Her essay “The Guts to Keep Going” was featured on National Public Radio’s “This I Believe.”
The death of her father, the man she calls “the first love of her life,” in 2000 took her breath away and caused Wilson to seek relief in the written word. In response, she is at work on a book about the serendipitous gifts of grief.
Wilson has been a contributor to Weavings: A Journal of the Christian Spiritual Life and The Spire, and a columnist for Her Nashville and the Northside Sun Magazine. She serves on the Advisory Council for the Dept. of Journalism at the University of Mississippi, and the board of Women’s National Book Association’s Nashville chapter.
In 2013, she taught writing and served as the writer-in-residence at the Earlham School of Religion. You can learn more at www.amylyleswilson.com.

Black voters played a huge role in helping Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) fend off tea party challenger Chris McDaniel in a runoff election Tuesday, and now the state NAACP is asking the six-term senator to return the favor.
Two political investigations are going on simultaneously in Mississippi. The first is to identify exactly who was behind the racist Robocall to democrats in an effort to manipulate the vote counts; and also identify the people behind the racist flyers. Most research seems to indicate former Republican Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, and his political PAC, as the source of the race-baiting attack ads. The racist McDaniel hates black people mailer? Note the illegal lack of disclosure.
In his speech that was banned from local TV, Chris McDaniel promises to never surrender. It’s deeply moving.
Karl Rove. the comeback kid?
Bill Whittle has some advice for us.
The subject of revolution is a touchy one. It’s not a word that should be thrown around lightly, and when it is uttered at all, it elicits a chaotic jumble of opinions and debates from know-it-alls the world over. The “R” word has been persona non grata for quite some time in America, and until recently, was met with jeers and knee-jerk belligerence. However, let’s face it; today, the idea is not so far fetched. We have a global banking system that is feeding like a tapeworm in the stagnant guts of our economy. We suffer an election system so fraudulent BOTH sides of the political spectrum now represent a hyper-rich minority while the rest of us are simply expected to play along and enjoy the illusion of choice. We have a judicial body that has gone out of its way to whittle down our civil liberties and to marginalize our Constitution as some kind of “outdated relic”. We have an executive branch that issues special orders like monarchical edicts every month, each new order even more invasive and oppressive than the last. And, we have an establishment system that now believes it has the right to surveil the citizenry en masse and on the slightest whim without any consideration for 4th Amendment protection
Most often the only instances in which common people take up arms and charge towards combat based on principle have been revolutions. Some revolutions are based on lies, and some are based on inspiration, but all of them require men to conquer their own apathy and fear of confrontation. The elements of a revolution are synchronous. They are like the ingredients of a boiling tropical storm. Each vital aspect of the event must be in place, or there can be no energy or direction.
