Staff Sergeant M. David Davis, USA (ret.), is a decorated combat veteran, military advisor & nuclear weapons specialist. He is also a soldier dying within months. Not in the line of duty, but death due to negligence. His death will be as a result of the Veterans Administration doctors who misdiagnosed his illness.
According to SSG Davis, during “the last 10 years, I have been seen by the VA for sores which they gave me antibiotic creams & antibiotics by mouth with never having a biopsy. Last fall, I complained again to the VA & I was told, "Maybe warts or have I ever had HIV." In February, I complained to the VA again and told my VA doctor who refused the records and the civilian doctor’s card to call. The VA doctor said, “I do not want an outside opinion and would not call.” After much complaining about a cyst on the right side of my face the doctor planned to have it taken out.
Two days later I was diagnosed with metastases malignant melanoma, stage 4. Further tests revealed, 6 tumors in left lung, 2 tumors in right lung, tumors in breast, neck and other areas. During my last meeting with the VA Oncologist, he would not offer me chemo or radiation because it would do no good. I asked for referrals to civilian organizations and or experimental treatment. My answer was. “The VA does not do referrals or will help me get into any research at civilian or pay any expenses”
The final result is I am looking for my own burial sites. I was not referred to social services at the VA to help me. So what is the outcome? I fought for my country and my country brings me home to die in its own government sponsored hospitals. If I had been properly diagnosed, referred, and or a simple biopsy performed ten years ago I would not be dying and I would be able to watch my children marry and grandchildren grow.”
Doug Briney embodies all things country: some would say down-to-earth, recalling the disposition of many a Southern Gentleman from yesteryear. With a 2013 Independent Country Music Association Award, eight months on the Roots Music Report charts, international airplay and live performances at CMA Fest, Rodeo Alaska, The Iditarod, The Grinder’s Switch Hour, Alaska State Fair, and Dan McGuiness’ on Music Row, among countless others, this God-fearing road warrior, with the warm baritone voice and love for all things southern, has released his aptly titled Super Country Cowboy. Doug has created a tasteful blend of yesterday's traditional country roots and today's radio-friendly contemporary sounds, to invoke all the best that is American: Love of God, Family and the US of A.
A 2013 move to Nashville, Tennessee has brought Doug to the epicenter of the country music industry. Grateful for being able to live his dream of performing and recording music, he has gladly given back to his community in a big way. He is also donating 100% of his proceeds from the sale of the single, “Unknown Soldier” to Operation Troop Aid. An ordained pastor, Doug also served at the Cowboy Church of Anchorage, Alaska, prior to his family’s relocation to Music City, USA. He is currently serving as a pastor with North Pointe Community Church in Old Hickory, TN. In fact, it’s his unwavering faith and love of country music that has led Doug on his journey.
“I have come to know and love the Cowboy Lifestyle through country music…And, it is who I am now, who I have been, and who I will always be.” --Doug Briney

God In the Midst otherwise known as G.I.T.M or GITM is an apostolic ministry whose charge is to help encourage, edify and equip the people of God who are called to Home Churches, Small Churches and Para Church ministries. Home or house Churches usually have 20 people or less, Small Churches are up to 100 adults and Para Church ministries could be Bible Studies, Prayer groups, men or women’s ministries that are not Churches in and of themselves but walk alongside the Church. We are featuring one Home, Small or Para Church ministry each month by interviewing the Pastors. We hope that as you hear these Pastors tell their personal testimonies, share with us the history and current goings on at the Church, the Lord will confirm what He has placed on your heart or it may encourage you to step out boldly …it may even catapult you to that next dimension in the Lord & ministry. Our Host is Apostle Barbara Kizzie
