Tech Talk on the SoftwareONE Radio Network - Hyper-Convergence and SDDC

    in Technology

Hyper-Convergence is defined by the virtualization of compute, network, storage technologies thus allowing logical objects to reside on any compatible hardware regardless of location. The Software Defined Data Center focuses on the end user solution and the process of providing these solutions in a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. The modern data center is no longer restricted by brick and mortar walls.

For years, IT has used abstraction to create a commoditization of our infrastructure.  Now there are formal names and products that take the commoditization to the next level. As hyper-convergence and the software defined data center begin the journey of maturing to the point where early adopters now have stories to tell, we can explore tool sets and best practices of expanding your data center beyond the four walls of your data centers.

Tune in on February 3rd as we discuss this trend and all the software companies that are working to support the modern data center. And don't forget to call in to ask a question or make a comment on the air and get an Amazon Gift Card at (347) 637-1009

    in Christianity

Apostle Shirley J. Jones is the Senior Pastor of Rehoboth Family Life Center, located in Upper Marlboro, Md. The Lord has given her the charge to make disciples; help them identify their spiritual gifts and set up platforms of opportunities that their gifts may be exercised; and then release them into their divine destiny. She pushes them forward that the world may be saved by those birthed out in the Spirit. Apostle Jones has declared that she should be about her Father’s business and acknowledges that her life is called to be an available vessel to set the captives free. Her desire is to spend her remaining years furthering the Kingdom of God. She feels honored and so blessed that God would choose her to deliver His Word and to love His people. She gives Him all the glory. There is no other place that she would rather be than in the hands of her loving Father.

In the BULLPEN with Dr. T

    in Youth

From President Reagan's A Nation At Risk report to President Obama's Race To The Top, the American Public School system has undergone over 30 years of reform.  From the infusion of testing, vouchers to charter schools, the landscape of the public school system is changing.  Is it for the better?  Has it made a difference in student learning outcomes or for improving teaching conditions?  Where is the public school system heading?

Dr. Walter C. Farrell enters the "BULLPEN" with Dr. T to discuss the scope of changes, their meaning, and policies as it relates to the current and future structure of the American education system.

Dr. Walter C. Farrell, Jr., is professor of social work and a fellow in the Center for Urban and Regional Studies (CURS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests include the study of minority economic development issues, demographic change and inter-ethnic conflict in contemporary society, the privatization and “charterization” of public education, workforce diversity, and urban social policy. He has appeared on the Today Show with Matt Lauer and National Public Radio’s The Connection to discuss public school privatization, and he has lectured to parent, teacher, and union groups throughout the nation.
