In case you haven't noticed, personal privacy, for the most part, does not exist anymore. Most large retail businesses have full surveillance systems. The highways and roads are replete with traffic cameras; satellites watch all of our streets; our government is bent on recording and storing our emails, texts and phone conversations; and criminals are having a hackaton on our computers and smart devices for fun and ill-gotten gains. Heck, if you have a smartwatch on, Google knows when you go to the bathroom!
What can people do to get some of their privacy back? How can the average Joe or Jane make any head way against the loss of privacy when the government, big business and criminals are all out to monitor our every move or are stealing our personal information? If you’re sick and tired of the big three (government, businesses and criminals) hacking your life, tune in and turn on to Working The Web To Win's broadcast of "The Piracy of Privacy," where you'll learn what you can do now to turn the tide against a world bent on fulfilling a 1984 reality.
Week 1 - Privacy Created By Jessica Myers on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 1:32:36 PM EDT
Judith Adams' post on privacy was frightening enough, when I discovered this link:
Which tells the story of a young teacher who lost her job because of her vacation pictures which depicted her enjoying wine. This is the ultimate in disbelief to me. I would like to think that most rational people would see the seriousness of the implications of suspending this young woman from her career. On the topic of teaching alone - where we have a shortage of well-qualified teachers constantly - we cannot afford to take talented teachers out of circulation because of a perceived character flaw. If she showed up drunk to the classroom, it would be a completely different story...but pictures of her enjoying a glass of wine while on vacation? Seriously?? I'm nearly speechless.
Youtube has made some significant changes to its platform in the last year and we, at Jumpwire, now consider it more of a social media network than a video playback destination site.
During the 15 minute show we will discuss:
1) How to use YouTube as a social media network: subscribers, conversations, etc
2) Using Youtube analytics to build more engaging content for your audience
3) Youtubers that are doing it right
4) Earning money from your Youtube content. Is it worth the hassle?
This was project was a quick inspiriation born of being punished for conservative, libertarian thoughts. Many people were being punished by having their social media accounts suspended because those OTHER people were offended, couldn't handle the truth. Those other people were the perpetually offended, unable to think for themselves. The chronically unemployed, living on the government plantation. These arre the people who take and take from the sysytem, but never give or contribute to the American society. They blame America for the world's problems, they are afraid to be responsible for any decisions they make, and they do not want ANYONE to disagree with them. If you do, they report you. You get suspended. Tonight all that ends.... Tonight no matter your post or tweet is, to whomever it is, you will not be suspeded. You see, in the arena ideas, liberals lose everytime, and they cannot argue the point, they only scream and call you names--NOT here- here this is where we stand, here is where they fall!!
Tonight will be the last night for Patriot Voices of social Media. After looking at this programs summary of listnership, and determing that this program does not have enough listeners or participation from its listeners, I have decided to move this program to Contra Radio. Contra Radio already has listeners, and I can incorporate the Patriot views and news into the Contra Radio format. It is also more financially prudent for me to move back to a one radio show. The sponsor ship just was not coming through to keep this show viable. The Contra Radio format is already been changed to include Patriot News and Views, and still cater to Prepper news and views. I invite the Patriot Voices patrons to check out Contra Radio. The Contra Radio network will always be looking to expand to other shows, or expand to include other topics.
This week Erin, Corina and I discuss which social media tools we use daily for Jumpwire clients. We are quite rigiorous about how we test new tools and how we assess if our clients should consider them.
The show will focus on 4 key areas:
1) Posting tools that will make you more efficient and save you time.
2) Data gathering tools for your social media platforms to help deliver insights
3) Websites that have good information and insights
4) A short list of people and companies to follow on various social platforms that will give you good insights on a regular basis.
