Patricia Hirsch, MCC, interviews Dr. Patrick Williams. Dr. Williams believes the power of the Coach Approach can be a catalyst for social change by empowering both change agents and those who are reached by non-profits or NGOs around the globe. His goal is to ignite interest in other certified coaches who want to assist by becoming CGV approved trainers and ambassadors in this effort to spread the Coach Approach essentials to grassroots organizations for change at the local level.
Dr. Patrick Williams, psychologist, author, and leadership coach, is a pioneer in the field of Life Coaching and founder of the Institute for Life Coach Training and Coaching the Global Village. Dr. Williams has been a developer of leaders for 3 decades and spoken around the world. He founded Coaching the Global Village in 2006 to bring the power of the coach approach to the underserved and resource poor of the world. CGV associates provide leadership training to grassroots organizations and/or non-profits, NGOs or corporate social change initiatives. Pat's message is that leadership is an activity, not just a position. Pat's speaking and training is inspirational, providing an igniting spark to individuals, communities, or organizations and offering methods and tools to "keep the fire burning" after the training.
Why is there no economic growth to speak of in the world? Has the decline of social values affected the economy? Has the cost of the decline pulled the economy down with it. How can we overcome the slippery slope we are on?

Isn't it a bit strange that we go through some 12+ years of schooling, going through math, science, social studies, history, English, etx., but seem to have missed the class of how to live life? At least when I was in elementary school and Jr. High School, we received bits and pieces of such, but nothing directly which would help us understnad the world in which we live or how to live successfully in it.
the choices we have as to how we live our lives are many and varied, filled with individuals and philosophies to guide you along their particular parth, always with a price to pay ... usually paid by you and me. Each direction given has a result, and end point that is laid out and moved toward with each step we take in that particular school or philosophy of living.
Most of us have been there but seem to have missed what life is truly about. Today, we'll continue to look at how to get and receive direction in life beginning with a story from an Audrey Hepburn movie, "The Nun's Story". Let' look at "How You Are Living Your Life" and see if we can make sense out of all of this.

Portage, MI – Teenage rebellion is a process of individuation; to form their own opinions and beliefs and assert their individuality, adolescents must separate their identity from you as their child. Though this process can be aggravating to parents, it is normal.
Sometimes, however, an adolescent’s volatile emotional needs begin to dominate the home and control the moods of everyone in it. What began as the vision of a perfect family soon devolves into arguments and chaos.
“Families love each other – that’s a given – but they don’t always know how to express it or give each other what they need emotionally,” says family counselor Theresa Britton.
Britton is a licensed master social worker and the founder of Family Matters Counseling, specializing in providing counseling services to couples, adolescents, children and adults. Britton is trained in brief strategic family therapy, which helps families with adolescents face problems related to truancy, poor school performance and defiant behavior.
“Each family is an individual family with its own structure and patterns of communication, so you need to have a variety of skillsets and tools to help that family best,” says Britton. “My goal is to look at their interactions, how they function and communicate, and devise strategies to help them overcome those obstacles.”
According to Britton, families tend to argue about their story with each other. In a family systems approach, everyone feels heard and everyone’s story is accepted.
“Everyone has their own perspective but there’s a little truth to them all,” explains Britton. “I have it organized so that all the family members participate. We talk about past hurts and you would be surprised how honest kids are; even defiant teens will be brutally honest about why they’re misbehaving."
