Topic: Spiritual Milestones Number One
Eliminate Sin from our lives
For the next couple of weeks we will be talking about spiritual milestones and what they are and how they help us to be able to maintain our soberity.
Now this is what Spiritual Anonymous Spiritual Milestones are:
Eliminate Sin Develope Humility Constantly pray to God for guidance Practice charity Meditate frequently on our newly found blessings giving honest thanks for them Take God into our confidence in all the our acts Seek the compaionship of others who are seeking a spiritual life.
Spritual Milestone Number Two
For the last couple of weeks I have been giving a teaching called “Spiritual Milestones”. I have been teaching this topic out of the booklet called, “Spiritual Milestones of Alcoholic Anonymous”. In addition, I have been explaining that Milestones were brick markers set along side of the road, with the emperor of that region name on the marker, letting a traveler know how many miles, they had travel on the kings highway.
The Great Pretenders,
People are pretending about every thing, and that is no way to stay sober.
Topic: "Knowledge of His Will"
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
We will talk about how important for us to be able to make life decision, my renewing our thinking, therefore we will not drink or do drugs.
Evangelist Debra Tate
Step 5 Part II
Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrong.
The Biblical counterpart, to step five comes out of James 5:16 King James Version.
16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The key words, or the terms we will be studying in this teaching is the word “admitting”, or to “admitted”. The equivalent word in the Bible is “confess”. This will what we will be talking about on "60 Minutes of Encouraging Words." Selah!
Step three states that in order to stay sober we must first make a decision. What does the word “decision” means? The word “decision” means the ability to pass judgment on an issue under consideration. Second, the word decision also means an act, a person is trying to reach a conclusion or is trying to make up their, own mind about something or someone. You must make up your own mind whether you want to continue living with this disease call alcoholism or whether you want to be made free in Christ Jesus, because the decision has to be yours. Third, a decision is when a person has came to a conclusion, and makes a verdict then pronounces it. Fourth, then the believer must become firm in character and in action, and show forth determination. This is what it is to have made a true decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood Him.
It was through the walls of A.A. that I came to believe on the name of Jesus Christ. Since I have allowed the Word of God to work in my life staying sober is easy. Whom the Son sets Free is Free Indeed!
