J. Neil Schulman suggests that Edward Snowden is a patriot in the tradition of the original American revolutionaries. Those who call him a traitor have no understanding or love for human rights or liberty.
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Here are some more common reasons people give for wanting to be involved in ministry:
“My parents were ministers; the mantle has fallen on my generation now. Besides, what else would I do?” The Lord’s ministry can’t be passed down from one generation to the next because relationship, His Personal Presence, can’t be passed down.
“I want to be able to spend all my energy, efforts and time with God. Being involved in public ministry will keep me safe and in His will.” But the church, and ministry in particular, was never meant to be a haven from the world or a guarantee against making mistakes.
“I can do it better than what I see being done.” This probably disqualifies you from that project, at least for now.
“Look at all God has done for me! The least I can do for Him is serve Him and His people.” You’re not doing the Lord any favors by trying to do His work for Him.
“I want my life to mean something. I want it to have eternal consequences and rewards.” None of us knows what is coming next, so to try to make decisions now, and use the unknown future as a motivator, robs us of the satisfaction and relationship that the Lord has for us in the present.
“God healed and set me free. Now I want to heal and free others.” We are to neither give nor withhold according to our own judgment, but in each case depend on the Lord for His direction, resources and results.
“I need to help people; I’m happiest ministering to people.”
“I’m just following the Great Commission to ‘GO’.”
“Even if God didn’t have this ministry planned for me, I’m sure He appreciates all the work I’ve done for Him.”
The police can openly kill people, this is well known, but why and when did it become a race issue? In the short time I have, I will be discussing some controversial facts that people don't like to hear about the Mike Brown case, the Eric Garner case, and distrust of the police. I will also address the slaying of the two officers in NY, an act that does nothing but spread hate. If you have a faith, send your prayers to the families.
Yesterday's comments on the Michelle Kosilek case covered the basics. Today, the guest is Jennifer Levi, director of the Transgender Rights Project of Gay & esbian Advopcaes & Defenders. She was incredulous about the majority decision denying reassignment surgery.
We'll cover the implications not only for Kosilek but also for current or future incarcerated transgender inmates in Massachusetts. Levi may also give us some perspective on the next action, as in whether the case might move to the Supreme Court.

Necrophelia, pedophelia, and creationism all have a place at the table on tonight's show. The war on Christmas has now apparently been won and isn't it just like the Christian Church to be a little too late on changing the Doctrine of Discovery. The Satanic Temple expanding chapters starting in Detroit. A case in the Satanic Panic comes to a head in Texas. The Church of Satan defines itself once again, So listen Already!
As one who always loved to immerse his face in the stream of life, let's talk about people who want to run away from it. Memoirs is about those who do in fact flee the challenge of life and seek refuge, in their case not in a bottle but rather in the nuthouse. Of course, enough bottle and the nuthouse (or prison or death) is just one more slip away. As a shrink I knew and worked with many people who were addicted, especially to booze. In fact, I often took them to their first AA meeting, something few shrinks do. No, I wasn't a member, but there are open meetings. I would try to arrange for one of my other clients who was living sober to be there for that same meeting. Funny coincidence...NOT! I would just say, "Hey Matt, this is Cathy. She can help you understand what's happening maybe go with you to a regular meeting." That helped a lot of people get their start in recovery.
So what does that have to do with my writing? Well, drunks tell great stories. I have another book, "Tales From the Dew Drop Inne", that tells the story of the gang who hang at that bar, which I set in Albuquerque. Not too surprisingly, the gang goes to find one of their number at a meeting to get him to be part of their bar softball team. Well, you can imagine what happens, but we can talk it.
Daniel Bell, Earnest Lacy, Derek Williams, Dontre Hamilton, Frank Jude, again and again its the same story, A black man is killed or beaten by Milwaukee Police and nothing is done. Enough is enough and the time has come to put it all on the line. KB AND THE REVOLUTIONARY RYDERS throw their hands in the air and scream I CANT BREATH!!!!!!! From public sodomy to rape and assault the Milwaukee Police Department has been been the biggest gang in the city from day one. There has to be change in this country with the neverending, senseless, murder of Black men at the hands of Gestapo law enforcement officers. Governor Thot Walker has already told us he has the National Guard on speed dial just in case us negros act a fool. We know that there will be no indictment of the officer who murdered Dontre Hamilton. The question is WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT???? Why are Black officers so quiet on this issue? What changes should the people demand?? Why are we still killing ourselves??? Why did Sheriff Clarke loan Charles Barkley that dunb ass cowboy hat????

Enjoy self-love, before giving your love away.
• What is self-love?
• How does one attain self-love?
• Who is responsible for self-love?
• When do you give self-love?
• Why do you need self-love?
Eartha Kitt says: "It’s all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self-love deficit.”
On today’s show, we will take a look at this often talked about term “self-love.” It is often the case that we give ourselves away before giving ourselves to our selves. It is healthier to connect with and love self before sharing one’s self with another. Self-love fosters a more healthy connection with someone else. I often say to clients: “you can’t give what you don’t have.” So, I encourage us to “enjoy self-love before giving love away.” Please join us today as we talk about the importance of loving yourself before seeking love and expecting another person to love you
